Drove for the first time in 16 yrs

Ok, got out and took the stang for another drive today. The tranny fluid was fine, maybe even a touch high. I was still have a problem with it slipping from 2nd to 3rd and even a couple of times from 1st to 2nd. I talked to the previous owner and he said that he never had any problems with...

Drove for the first time in 16 yrs

Well, that about sums it up. I did notice some transmission slip when it would shift into 3rd, but other than that it drove great. So heres my tech question, are there any internal seals that could degrade over the 16 yrs that could cause it to slip only when shifting into third? I did fill...

    ? about welders

Check out this thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=667942 its on this forum. IMO yes it is large enough to weld anything on a mustang, the frame rails on a stang (to my knowledge) are less then 1/4" thick so you should be fine. As far as wire selection and what it will...

    Should i get this welder?!?!?!

The Tractor Supply company here in the Kansas City area has a HOBART™ HANDLER® 140 WIRE FEED MIG WELDER for $449.98 (TSC # 3812040) new. I would spend the extra $50 for a new than a reconditioned (if you have to pay for shipping the $50 is worth it IMHO). As far as thickness Tractor supply...

    carb sizing & setup question

65stang200, Yes it was your post that I saw. It got me thinking about linkages and what not. I think I have an idea in my mind on how to set it up to run at different rpms. The only thing I dont know is if air would get sucked in from the other two carbs or if it would get blown out from...

Thanks for the posts guys, thats alot of help. BTW the key that the previous owner gave me did not work. So now I have to take out one of the door locks and take it to a locksmith for new keys. I am now 95% done with the electrical on the barn/shop and hope to finish up with it and get the...

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

Being that the block is only 200ci stock I didnt think I would be able to reach the 400 hp range. Maybe if I had a 250ci that could be possible but like but like 65shelbyclone said whats the upper limit? Mike from FSPP would probably know if its possible.

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

I am going to be putting up forms for a concete floor in one of my barns (40' wide x 28' deep) that I will use as a shop and I am wanting to put a car lift in one of the four bays. Does anyone know if they need any type of footing under them to support the wieght? And for that matter what brand...

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

Dejavu, I understand that the chassis will need to be upgraded, I have plans to stiff up the entire chassis with a tubular support system. Doing whatever I can to keep it concealed within the body and unseen because I want to keep the car looking stock on the outside. As to what I am going to do...

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

6T6coupe your correct about the chassis, I wasn't sure how much I should talk about this in this thread since the title of the thread is about increasing HP. As far as what I am going to do to the chassis I don't know yet. I probably wont have the car striped down to the frame for another...
