The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

Pete, I'd rather give my money to you rather than this guy, so if you can build another vert just for me, I'll give you $12k rather than $13k to the genius running the add. Sound fair??? :D :D :D Chris

    Frame rail/torque box/firewall replacement help

You're right about that. I looked at mustangs here in WI, IL and MN before saying enough's enough and buying one in Phoenix. Even though you pay more up front for a nicer car, you come out ahead in the long run on labor if you're paying a shop to do the rust repair. My 67 fastback was just a...

    Unique Performance in the news

If you were to only look at the vin issue brought up by the news report, then you would be correct. We don't know the exact truth regarding what is happening there. But the main issue that many unhappy customers have with Unique Performance is the fact that they have given the company money...

    Unique Performance BAD NEWS!

It's good to see that at least nobody else will be taken by Unique Performance. Many people, myself included, are owed money. I'm lucky in the fact that it's only a few hundred dollars for a parts order they never followed through on. I hounded them for over a year, and only got empty...

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

I got my copy of Mustang Monthly in the mail the other day. Congrats on making the cover, and the article inside! :nice: Chris

Position of Trunk Jacking Instructions Decal

Here's a pic of the underside of the trunk on my 67 fastback. This is the sticker in the original position over the original paint. Hope this helps. [/IMG] Chris

    too many vins?

I saw the same thing on my '67 fastback when I took the fenders off. One VIN on the driver side, two under the fender on the passenger side. You're fine.

    '67-'68 GT Rear Valance Quality

I would be interested to see how the new Dynacorn piece fits, since they are reproducing entire unibodys for 67-68's. Chris

    Torque Boxes

Torque box pic Just to give another perspective, here's a pic showing the passenger side torque box at the time of it being installed on my 67 fastback. It was done at the same time as the other patch work you can see in the floors. Chris

How must rust is too much?

I would say, like everyone else, it depends on what your plans are for the car. I'm in the process of restoring my first Mustang as well, a 67 fastback. Even though it was an AZ car, it still needed floorboards. I had the patch work done by a restoration shop, and the whole process was, and...

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

The car looks great. I do agree though, a cloth top would be better suited to the overall quality this car already has, like what Unique Performance uses on their convertibles. Don't get me wrong though, the quality of Reen's car is way better than anything that UP is slapping together. I...

    Windows Binding question 1967

Were the holes that the felt secures in the door bent or otherwise distorted? This is easy to do when taking the felt out, and would keep the felts from sitting flush against the door. I'm not sure if that'd be enough to cause your problem though. Chris

    351w internalss help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread has helped to shine some light on a few gray areas I had between the two different combos. Does anyone know of any books they'd recommend on building a small block stroker? I've seen a few listed online, but didn't know how worthwhile they are. Thanks

    351w internalss help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks BottleFed70. I have read a bit on lateral forces and rod ratios in various articles as well as here on StangNet. What I never seem to find an answer to is if you were to compare a 393w to a 408w with both engines being otherwise similar, what would be the pros and cons of each? Mind...

    351w internalss help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SoCal, why do you prefer the 393 over a 408? I'm at a similar point as 67 is at in his build, and I'm trying to decide between those two combos. I know the basics from reading old posts, but never hear much real world feedback. If you could, please elaborate a bit on your choice. Thanks! :nice:

Carol Shelby's Cobra went for what?????

You had to expect that car to go for a lot of money. It's not uncommon for a cobra to bring over $1 million at auction lately, and this car is basically the ultimate Shelby cobra. I've seen the 67 Shelby vert in person. It's at the Volo auto museum in Volo Illinois. I think they did a...

    68 289 C code engine tips!

Crs, what kind of MPG were you getting with your 393? I'm just curious, since people can have different opinions on what a "gas hog" is. Also, what kind of performance were you getting from your previous combo?
