    school me on cutting springs...

As for the metalurgy: Steel depending upon it's exact alloy begins to change it's structure at a surprisingly low 300 degrees. Now thats not really enough to cause much worry for losing the temper ona spring but at about 500 degrees it will begin to soften a hardened temper. You're saying...

    750 Edelbrock carb tuning issue

The choke is only used to enrich the starting mixture of a cold engine. it serves no purpose other than that. Having said that, using a choke will allow you to run a slightly leaner mixture than would otherwise start easily but it doesn't seem to be that he's too rich.

Backspacing (talk to me dodgestang :)

05-07 wheels run with 6.29" of Backspace. With a 1.5" adaptor it leaves just a little more than 1/8" between the rim and the edge of the UCA on a stock setup.

    750 Edelbrock carb tuning issue

It still seems like you may have a vacuum leak. Can you plug ALL vacuum lines and hook the gage up and see what it reads? I think you said you had a C4 tranny, is your vacuum modulator leaking maybe?

    Brake pedal effort, manual brakes

IIRC, 30-40 pounds is about average for manual disc.drum setups and drum/drum would be just over that. As for the MC, it's plumbed correctly. The rear jug feeds the front brakes, dunno why but thats how they did it.

    Electric Fan for Stock Alternator

IIRC, the 4 bladed flex fans move more air at lower rpm's due to a steeper blade pitch.

O/T Know anything about guns??

Won't have much value though since the stock has been 'sporterized', cut short and the top hand guard removed. If it cycles smoothly and you don't see any pitting down the barrel, buy some NEW ammo and go test fire it. Mount the rifle to a bench and fire the first few shot via a string...

    Electric Fan for Stock Alternator

And those flex fans draw a lot of air, just not always through the radiator... So I would agree that if you're on a budget you should get a fan shroud.

SN95 caliper brackets for Granada spindle

Ok, so I'm a little confused now... Seems like Degins is working on a bracket to let the PBR caliper bolt up to the Granada spindle for use with the Granada rotor. I think I'm clear on that. It also seems that others are trying to use a larger rotor and wondering how much work it would...

The Worst Part of an Engine Swap

Ditto on the straw and NIX the screwdriver idea... As for compression, even with brand new rings you should still get enough of a seal to get a compression reading. It wouldn't be expected to to be reliable but it should be able to measure. The rings would seat and the compression would...

    Doing Shelby drop

Well I've heard it called all 3 of those names before... And the difference between the two templates is how far back the new holes are placed. The 66 template shows the holes dropped and relocated back 1/8" while the 67+ template shows the holes simply dropped.
