    67 289 AC belt/pulley dilemna.

This is the other setup I was thinking about. I assume it uses the non-AC alt pivot bracket. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-66-67-Mustang-A-C-V8-Brackets-Idler-OEM-1967_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34197QQihZ008QQitemZ180134857045QQrdZ1

    67 tire pressure decal

Thanks for the replies!! Still confused or need more details. Mine is an early 67 (wwiper bag instead of plastic tank, etc). I know 66/67 fairlanes were on the inside of glovebox door. My coupe has been painted several times so no way to tell anything from door jams. So (DosStangs) is...

    Brake Hose Bracket Bolt Stripped?

The bolts are usually self tapping (it only taps into the sheet metal, no nut on the backside). In additon to the apply pressure under the bracket method you can also use vise grips to clamp on the head and pull as you turn. As stated above it is only tapped into the 14ga sheet metal so it...

    Dies when put into gear

You say C4 auto tranny. 1)Did you try disconnecting the vacuum line to the modulator? 2)If you keep your foot on the gas can you always keep it from dying as you move the gear selector? (if not then you may have an electrical issue with the netrual safety switch, Ive seen one that had the...

There are always at least 5 of these on ebay. they usually go pretty cheap (less than $20).

    1968 console stereo

I concur with jcode68. We are talking console so cutting the metal backing plate to fit a DIN radio is not a problem. Cutting up the overlay pad so it does not look like crap is a different story because the faceplate trim will need to mount to the pad not the metal support. If it were a...

    New Windshield

here is an interesting auction for 65-68 windshield at $80. It appears to be from a glass house that you pay no shipping as you must pick up from one of their several dozen locations (one in my city, Bham). I would assume you coud arrange installation as well...

    Power Steering Troubleshooting

The only PS bleeding I knew of was to turn the wheel lock-to-lock several times and I did that a few dozen times for no help. Is there more?

    power brake booster rubber lube

Anyone know what the light colored lube used on the rubber parts inside/outside of the power brake booster? it looks like molylube but I want to know for sure. My booster is leaking big time and is the midland type with the clamp. I took off the clamp and it looks like all of the rubber is in...

    Power Steering Troubleshooting

67 coupe with Power Steering. Problem: When turning the wheel more than about 3/4 turn from center position, the pump starts to squeal. I see the pump pulley start to hang and see the belt squeal. The belt feels tight but I see it flex when the pump starts to hang. Also the pump/control...

    1967 Air Conditioning

The #2 pix were taken as viewing the lower half of the AC unit from inside the car (blower to the left). This shows the offset of the lever to be toward the blower and slightly upward. thus when the vacuum is applied the lever would be pulled back and upward. #5 pix is taken as viewing from...

AC in place of PS pump?

There are apparently tons of variations from all of the comments. This is an extract from the Ford Parts Diagram (page 20 of section 197.2 of the illustrations manual). The caption says it is for a 68 Ford, Fairlane, Falcon, Mustang with 289/302 and Hang-on AC. It is exactly the same as what...

AC in place of PS pump?

Not sure what engine you have but the waterpump on a 67/68 289 is driven/tensioned off the alternator (as well as seperate PS and AC belts) any one will do the trick. I know that the alternator on 6cyl is different when it comes to w/ or w/out PS but the waterpump is still driven/tensioned by AC...

    thinking about this welder

I am going to go against the insight of many on this subject. If you are going to do some occasional body work (restore an occasional car and piddle with other general welding) I recommend cheeaap MIG such as http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/itemdisplay/displayItem.do?itemid=6271. They have...

    welder

I purchased a HF MIG(150) and also have the Eastwood Stitch/spot welder combo(very old version, when they first stated selling them in early 80's). The stitch welder was a miricle tool tool for a DYI person back when the cheapest MIGs were in the $1k range but I can do everything that it does...

    How to strip it

 I would not blast any 80's plus exterrior panels but a 67 has thicker metal and should not have a problem unless you hold the nozzle too close. I have done a 66 Fairlane and some panels on my 67 Coupe with no problems. DA is Dual Action not Dumb #ss
