Steering Setup In A 66 Coupe

Thanks for the response. I'm debating now going with this setup, or using a different firewall mount and a single u-joint.

Steering Setup In A 66 Coupe

BLUF: Does the steering column have to mount to the firewall or is the dash mount only safe enough (using a single u-joint)? Using a double u-joint, I can get a firewall mount but the set screws don't line up with the steering column or box holes, is that ok? So here's where I'm at now with my...

Expired Pair Of Procar Rally Seats - Dc Area

I have two Procar Rally seats that were in my '66 Coupe and are barely used. The driver's seat has maybe 500 mi on it and the passenger seat has been sat in only a handful of times. They come complete with sliders and brackets for my '66 Mustang however, they should fit a wide year range. I have...

Truth be told, I wouldn't be happy until I had this though, haha:

    18" Wheels On A 65 Conv. 7" Or 8" Wide???

Nice, looks great. Don't you get any rubbing with the fenders though with the wheel turned? I really want the protouring look but I'm afraid 8" wheels are too narrow, but I don't have the money to mini tub and I don't want to go to a Mustang II front end and remove the shock towers just yet.

    18" Wheels On A 65 Conv. 7" Or 8" Wide???

Awesome, I was just about to make the same post but I'm glad you beat me to it and have tested it already. I wanted to go with the 563Rs but apparently they don't make them anymore so I need to find another set. Also, they'll be attached to Baer Pro + brakes and TCP coilovers so I'm excited...

    18" Wheels On A 65 Conv. 7" Or 8" Wide???

Hey, I'd like to hear what specs you've come up with. I'm going to go with 18x8s on all four corners running 235/40-18 (I might go a smidge wider in the rear for a staggered effect, but probably not). I'm thinking 4.75" backspacing, too. I basically copied the 17x8 specs and shrunk the tire...

    Red Seat Belts, Black Interior

Do you guys have some pics so I can get an idea? Thanks for the responses.

    Red Seat Belts, Black Interior

Just wanted to see what you all thought about this set up: Red three point seat belts and black ProCar Rally seats in my 66. Anyone have any issues with the combination? The car is red and I know manufacturers will do the red with black so I feel like it should be fine. Also, I was going to...

    66 Cowl Vent Repair Questions

Great to hear, thank you. I'm dreading the cost but it's a necessary evil.

    66 Cowl Vent Repair Questions

I'm looking to get my 66's cowl repaired and have some questions that I couldn't find here. The cowl is definitely leaking on both sides but I haven't actually seen what it looks like inside. I was wondering if it's better to do the two patch panels or just get a full replacement panel? I saw...

    Md, Dc Shops

This place has changed quite a bit since I've last been around so I tried to search but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know of any good shops in MD or DC that can work on classic Stangs? I live in Southern MD (I know, I'm sorry, too) and I need to get the cowl fixed on my 66 and want a...

    Shipping A Car Cross Country

Hey, I'm looking into shipping my 66 from WA to MD and I'm checking out moving companies. I searched the forum to no avail and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on movers. I'd appreciate any help.

    Water temp sender issues

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up using some Permatex liquid gasket on the threads and put it back in. No leaks over the last couple of days so I think I'm in the clear. My goal is to totally redo the engine, so it's more of a quick fix to last in the time being.

    Water temp sender issues

Here's the issue, the Stang is my daily driver for one more week and the shop is about an hour and a half away (it's normally at my parents house closer to the shop but I grabbed it for a couple weeks for fun). After looking at it, the threads don't look completely destroyed, but here's some...

    Water temp sender issues

I finally removed the water temp sender unit (coolant drain was an adventure in itself, looks like I killed a Ninja Turtle on my garage floor). Now I know why I was getting a slight leak from there: the threads are a different size from the intake manifold. We had a shop do some work on the...

    Temperature sending unit

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but in terms of replacing the sending unit, how easy is it? Can I just unscrew the old one and put the new one in? Assuming it's cold and the thermostat is closed, I shouldn't have to worry about a huge amount of coolant leaking out, right? Pretty basic...

    Door doesn't "pop" out, 66

Ok, I'll give it a look. Just to be on the same page, you're talking about the external post attached to the main body the latch hooks onto? What should I be looking for?

    Door doesn't "pop" out, 66

We had a new door latch assembly installed on the driver's side door and it doesn't "pop" out when you open it from the inside or outside. I haven't torn the door open yet, but was wondering if you guys have any ideas of what to look at or would cause it. The passenger door works just fine...
