    New 2018 Mustang GT Owner

Take your Mustang GT A10 into the dealer and have them reflash the transmission software with the latest data update. This should smooth out the issues you are having with rough shifting and more. The engine tick can be reduced by adding a can of Ceratec to the engine oil as others have done...

Brand New GT350 Hit - Need Help

This is not an intercooler but an oil cooler for the motor I believe. It is not leaking oil but may have crushed fins. The headlight is bad as well. If you are OCD, you might want to take your car to TASCA Ford in RI as they specialize in all HiPo Fords. Good Luck!

    Black Wheel Paint

I have read that some owners with the dreaded black PP1 wheels have used black nail polish sourced from CVS / Walgreens to touch up the many nicks these wheels develop over time. Cheap, durable, and shiny.

    Good deals from Hertz?

Spin the wheel and take your chances on a used rental car. Multiple drivers, lot attendants, daily gas refills at multiple cheap stations, fast harsh multiple car washes, scuffs and dings at tourist destinations, and lots of short driving cycles. And maintenance......who knows? The...

    What would you consider essential?

The Magnaride set up only is available with the Performance Pack suspension which has a stiffer spring rate, expensive summer tires, and staggered black wheels. I special ordered a 2018 GT and stayed away from the Magnaride / PP1 package due to all of the above and I had to have a factory spare...

    2018 mustang 10 speed failure

I had the lunging into gear and coast down downshift harshness which was solved by a dealer software re-flash of the tranny computer last week. Nice and smooth now with the latest updates.

Hill Assist - Useful Or Not?

    How to buy new?

I got my X-Plan through the my MCA membership. Dealer cost plus $100, and all existing Ford incentives which were $2K when i purchased my 2018 GT. A $43K price became $38K which was outstanding. You can also use the MCA X-Plan on any Ford or Lincoln purchase which is great.

    Auto Transmission oil change.

Every 25-30K will give you no issues down the road. The drain and refill is not an easy job so a dealer visits may be needed.

Engine Misfire only with headlights on

It sound like you have a bad ground wire somewhere. I had an old Fairmont back in the day when I could cause it to stumbull whenever I put the heater motor fan on high. This caused a weak ground to steal from the ignition systems ground and the car would start to miss. Check all of the under...

    2019 Mustang GT? Good buy?

I have a 2018 GT A10 and so far so good. Quiet motor and outstanding tranny. I did change the oil multiple times in the first 4000 miles and added a catch can which works great. First oil change was at 220 miles and found lots of metallic crud in the catch pan but all of the other oil changes...

    2018-2019 GT Owners

You need to add a catch can to the motor. I have a 2018 GT and added a Ford Performance catch can at 600 miles. At 2K, I was surprised by how much oil was caught in this can. These motors really do churn up a lot of PCV gas and oil vapor. Just read the GT350 article in Car and Driver and...

    Jacks?

I just installed Steeda jacking rails on my 2018 GT and they are well made, install easily, and allow you to lift the entire car with one jack. Once the car is lifted, simply rest it down on a pair if jack stands and all is good.

Order a 2019 - Recaro or regular seats for comfort?

Stick with the heated and cooled power premium package seats for mostly daily driving. They are wonderful, feel great, look great, and saves much money. I got mine in the stone color with the Ruby red paint . Looks like a custom show car. No more all black interiors for me.

    Used mustang gt maintanance

Brake fluid flush / bleed, tranny service, coolant flush and refill, oil change and filter, air and cabin filters, brake checks and lighting checks. Also check the A/C system for the dreaded leaking interior evaporator. That job is huge and costly...close to $2K at a dealer if it needs to be...

    The spaceship engine cover

This cover is a GDI sound muffler I believe although some have removed it and report no change in noise. It does cover the multiple plumbing lines for the dual injection set up.

    What Do I choose?!?!?!

For a DD you need to go with PP1. PP2 is a track car and you are right about not driving in the rain with those slick racing Michelin tires. Both PP1 and PP2 will have you at the tire dealer within the first year of ownership so start saving!

    Staggered wheels... Yay or Nay?

August 2018 issue has the run down.

    Staggered wheels... Yay or Nay?

And go read the current R&T story about the 2018 GT PP2 with the super wide tires and rims. The tram lining issue would drive me nuts as the car hunts all over the road, no tire rotation, can't drive in the rain, and goofy profile. I would keep the 20s that you have and get some sticky...
