    My fuel filter changing experience

That's what I do. It dribbles a little bit, but definitely doesn't spray. Safety glasses and rags, like you say are a must. Also disconnecting the battery as well.

does anybody know why my car is real sluggish on take off???

The rear/tattle tale O2 sensors will set a code with an O/R pipe almost all the time unless turned off (tuner) or MIL eliminators are used. They won't however cause the car to run bad unless they are leaking or loose. They are used strictly for monitoring. The front sensors are the ones the ECM...

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

The machines may be more accurate than hand tools, assuming regular calibration, however the problem is finding someone who actually knows how to use the machine properly. These days most FWD cars only allow for toe adjustments, rarely camber and very rarely caster. The angles are built...

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I'm just making the numbers up to illustrate a point. I don't remember what the actual values were, but the gist of it is the tech and his manager needed a lesson in basic math.

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I can understand your frustration. A few years ago I had to have my Caprice aligned after buying new tires. The tire place did it on a state of the art Hunter machine and gave me the print out. As I was driving home, I could feel the car was not right. Pulling and squealing on turns. When I...

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

Hi! I'm following this thread with interest because I am going to be changing the struts/shocks on my stock 2003 GT vert with 64k on it. I still have the rivets and the car is NOT lowered. Tracks perfect and tires wear evenly. I'm thinking of Bilstein, Tokico or KYB on all for corners...

    Cobra brake upgrade question

Just did the front upgrade on a 2003 GT.... Awesome difference. I'll be honest, I thought people were FOS when they said this makes a huge difference in normal driving. I was totally wrong. You can easily feel the idfference just driving around town. I went buyfordracing.com and got...

    COP Blowing....Trouble Shooting Advice...

I've gotten so much great advice off this board I thought I would try and help a little. Here is my story.... I had been experiencing an intermittent hesitation, tranny(auto) shifting problem that was really hard to pin down. I also had an intermittant vibration problem at exactly 60mph...

    1999 mustang front brakes.

What brand pads? Did you put the goop on the back of the pads? Squeaks are caused by vibration although some very aggressive pads do sometimes squeak.

    hot start issue?

Hahahha! My 2003 does the same thing and yes, it always seems to fail when people are around. It seems to be a common Mustang quirk. What I do for hot starts is turn the key to on but don't crank. Leave it like that while you put on your seat belt, adjust the mirror etc. Don't touch...

Secret Incantations for GT front brakes ?

I had EXACTLY the same problem when I did my brakes for the second time a couple of weeks ago. Brakes were working fine, lubed pins with proper grease etc. I've been doing this for 30+ years BTW. Test drive and the drivers side was cooking with bacon! Jacked car up and wheel was...

    cigarette outlet won't work

Yea, same thing with me... What is it with the dash mounted lighter socket? Nothing I plug into it really fits well and I usually have to spin the plug on the device to make good contact. I've pulled it out and it looks fine? Wires are clean, contacts have spring to them etc...

Can an old battery affect how my car runs?

As batteries get older they typically tend to appear as more resistance to the circuit, meaning the alternator. This means the alternator has to work harder to charge it as well as making it more difficult to keep the car running due to the parasitic drain the battery is providing. Dump it...

    Brake bleed question... again

Some people have reported purging the air by making several panic stops (lock the wheels) in a row and then bleeding the brakes.. IOW from say 40mph mash the brake pedal down and hold it until the car stops. Repeat a couple of times. Make sure your system is reasonable before doing this...

New to me 2002 Gt Auto with some issues

Mine has always done it, car has 38k on it now and AFAIK has never been abused. I have a B&M xx264 cooler on it and am using Mercon V and a Motorcraft filter. With my car it's very, very. very subtle and in fact like I said most people driving the car would never notice it. It's just that I...

New to me 2002 Gt Auto with some issues

My 2003 auto does the same thing WRT to lockup. If you are driving with light foot on gas and *hang out around* the locup speed, like 40mph I think, it will buck a little bit. However if you give it a little gas, or accelerate past the pseed, it's fine. Been doing it for as long as I have...

99 wont start. Theft light flashes. whats wrong. please help

+1 It's the antenna for the RFID chip in the key head and the wires are very delicate. Also, if you copy a key make sure it is a Strattec and not some off brand. Some of the off brands will not program properly.

    Worst products you ever used.

Same here.... That Ice stuff is the worst crap I have ever used. +2 on whomever said the Meguires Scratch-X sucked. It clumps like mad.. I do like Meguires Gold Class though. Mothers is good. Armour All Tire Shine sucks....You touch your tires, like taking air pressure, a week later and...
