    just ordered my b springs

I've got B springs up front on my 2000 GT with the isolators and didn't need CC plates. I bought a set of MMs just in case, but they're still in the box.

    Head Upgrade, what else?

If it has seen, and will continue to see high RPMs I might think about having the valve seals replaced. And since they're apart might as well do a little P&P and put in oversize valves. If you're upgrading the cam, and again with the high RPMs, I'd also do new valve springs.

    balanced and blueprinted

If running at idle and you stab the gas a blue printed and balanced engine will spin up and return to idle much faster than say a factory stock engine, as a real world example of the effect.

275/40 drag radial on 8 inch rim

I've ran 275x40 on a 17x8 in several different street tires for years, but have never BFG or MT drag radials if that's what you're referring to. I ran 275x40 BFG Comp T/As on both 16x8 and 17x8 with no problems. They bulge a little but I like the look and don't regularly slam them into curbs...

New to the 4.6 and have some simple questions

I understand, I just think the OP was talking about highway noise and RPMs it was turning at those speeds. Everyone likes the increased acceleration from gears, and the steeper gears do help the modulars with their lack of low end torque. At highway speeds, where the OP said he didn't care for...

New to the 4.6 and have some simple questions

I don't buy that chart for a second, unless you're talking about drag strip performance only. To quote the man: The RPMs will be the same on the highway since the OD gear ratio is the same in both transmissions. I doubt it "got annoying" because of the power/acceleration (because that's...

New to the 4.6 and have some simple questions

Looks like you're right, or at least you were told correctly. I've been looking around and all the information I can find shows the final drive ratio of 3.27 for the 99-01 Cobra, it looks like it was switched to 3.55 for the 03-04. I thought they switched to 3.55 when they brought in the IRS...

New to the 4.6 and have some simple questions

You've got the T-45, they switch to the 3650 mid-way through the 01 model. As stated, it has PI intake, heads and cams. Since you've got the 01 IRS I'm assuming it has the 3.55s instead of the 3.27s that were stock in the 2000 SRA. If you're looking for more I say step up to the 4.10s. I...

back end side steps when hit bump in corner

:stupid: I got mine for free (traded SRA for it) and it took me and two other guys 5 hours to do the swap. We had to stop twice, once to try and work a slide pin on the rear caliper loose and another to go get a cargo strap to help ease the IRS into place. Not all that time consuming and...

    Solid to IRS conversion

The whole setup is heavy, and does add to the overall weight of the car. In addition to helping with the front/rear weight distribution this also removes 125lbs of unsprung weight from the car, helping to offset the addition overall weight of the piece. Hands down, my car drives better...

    Solid to IRS conversion

I've read of people using the IRS and SRA shocks interchangeably but I didn't. Most places that sell them sell a different set for IRS but I haven't looked close enough to see if they are actually different. Springs are for sure different and you'll need the ones from the IRS when you swap it in.

Stang moves while in gear & veh off..?

Clutch is going out, or not being allowed to engage all of the way. I suspect you would have known about it by now if it wasn't engaging all the way. Try getting on the road in 4th at about 1500rpm and floor it to see if it starts slipping.

Creative minds needed for a suggestion

First I would check to make sure the pigtails are seated properly on both sides. Assuming they are, just buy a new set of isolators and throw one in on the low side.

    Solid to IRS conversion

I say go for it, I swapped in an IRS last week and I love the way it rides. As far as straight line driving I don't notice much change, but driving on a bumpy road is a night and day difference from the stock SRA.

    5.0 vs 4.6

As pointed out by CobraRed_96_GT that year's GT still produced the same amount of power as a 5.0 with less displacement. 1996 was also the debut for the DOHC Cobra with 80+ more HP than a stock 5.0 with the same 4.6L engine. I fail to see this dump you say technology took. :)

    5.0 vs 4.6

Doesn't even take an import guy for that. A 4.6 makes more power stock than a 5.0, there's your technology at work.

    T45 & TR3650 Owners - Help!

That's easy to do, but not definitive. I've got a 2000 with a T45 and I can get it in reverse without grinding while it is moving forward. It can't be going very fast, but it's quiet and smooth as could be.
