    Anti-Bling

On my black car I sprayed the faux gas cap and the grill pony with Semi-Matte black. Gloss black seemed even more "plastic-y" than the chrome and Flat black seemed gray. For my new car I bought a thin plastic pony overlay from a seller on eBaY ($9.95) and sprayed it Semi-Matte black. It sticks...

Does anyone know how to lower the seat?

Back in the day a fellow came through tech at an SCCA road race school, and his showroom stock Corvette's rollover bar was an inch too low. His solution was to borrow a box-cutter knife and cut out the bottom of the driver seat. I'm not suggesting that's the right move in this case, but...

GT front Brakes on a V6

I put the GT takeoff rotors/calipers/brackets on the V6. Seems to me it stops better, and it surely didn't fade as quickly as the standard brakes. For me, very much worth the cost and hassle. Balance was not an issue on the street or autocross track. Took me a while after I started the...

Replacement tires for stock Pirellis on 2005 GT

I disremember seeing "GTs". What manufacturer?

45 Series or 55 series tires

I'd go to TireRack.com and check the Specs on tires you are interested in. They list the diameter, revolutions per mile, section and tread width, appropriate wheel rim widths for each tire they sell. And they sell a lot of tires. As far as appearance and filling your wheel wells, the only...

    Moss Mustang

First bought from E. Alan Moss himself in the early fifties. Most recent was from Moss Mustang last week. Very consistently quick shipping and accurate order-filling. On another forum a staff member at Moss posts and always says something to the effect, "Don't forget to ask for your AFM...

    Exhaust Poll

About GTAs versus stock I put the M-5230-V6 dual conversion, which comes with GTAs, on my '06 convertible automatic. I loved the sound, but after a while they seemed a little too loud to my old earbones. Had no other objections to them, and until I bought a new GT/CS, didn't intend taking any...

    Post Pics of Your Mustang

Wow! Some real talent showing here. You guys do a lot more than just record car portraits. Wonderful work. Thank you-all for the opportunity to see it. For my part, my new new new car is now a two-week veteran of a trip through the mountain twisties and a dozen or so autocross runs. Adds up...

    Post Pics of Your Mustang

Yes, thanks. I like the differences, too, although I could do without the hood scoop. Anyone have a nice, near-new Performance White scoop-delete hood they'd like to swap? I suppose the scoop will grow on me. I did maybe ten or a dozen autocross runs with it yesterday, and didn't even...

    Post Pics of Your Mustang

What a coINcidence! It is a wonderful automobile. Last Monday I got one just exactly like it, except mine's white and a 2009! I'll eventually make better photos of it, but these are all that's available right now:

    Steering issue at 75mph

Have you moved the front wheels to the rear to see if that moves the vibration? Eliminates one cause if the problem stays in the front.

    any S197 Air Conditioning Tricks?

One of the first things to check, if you're not getting the coolth you want, is that the areas under your front seats are clear for air circulation. Cold air tends to sink and pool on the floor if it can' be pushed or pulled around.

    tune only?

I have the BamaChips 91 and 87 performance tunes and the 91 torque tune, and just a K&N drop-in filter and and exhaust. I'd say the "tune-only" is very much worth the expense and effort. The car is much more responsive, easily more powerful, and sounds better. Here's what BamaChips shows...

    Dspec issue's

There's a Steeda set that makes camber adjustment easy. Pricey, though. http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_billet_camber_adjusters.php Seems to me the factory shop manual mentions changing the shape of the strut bolt-holes to allow adjustment. http://bradbarnett.net/service_man/

    Advice on Complete suspension kit

After a year and a half of fiddling, my final (so far) solution, (many items selected and kept based on the kinds of advice and testimony like that above): Steeda Sport springs - mild lowering, major performance enhancement, little ride deterioration. Tokico D-Spec struts/shocks - adjustable...
