    Gutting my coupe... how far?

It is best to get your car sandblasted to see the problem spot, and based on the extent decide whether to replace whole panel or not. I would not replace shock towers unless I absolutely had to. keep in mind that replacing a panel is usually more difficult than patching it with sheet metal...

Improved Camber during Shelby Drop for a '67

the template mentioned in this post is inaccurate, the holes on my 67 do not overlap with this template (2mm shorter) and and even angles on the template are not 90 degrees - should it be like that or not?

New Rims touching the upper A-arm.. what should I do?

With S197 wheels you may be able to do it with 1.25" adaptor if you are able to push the upper arm by at least 3 mm. There is space inside the a-arm, but it's quite difficult to do it on the car because the meatl is quite thick. I think 1.5" adapter is too big for the rear end; if you have stock...

    oversized cam bearings

I double checked what he wanted and you were right; he said he had to bore through the bearings to make sure they are not deformed after they are pressed to the block, so standard size will be OK thanks man

    oversized cam bearings

Well I am going to replace cam and bearings but I need oversize bearings. The guy who is rebuilding said he had to bore the cam openings by at least +0.5 mm I guess 0.020" which is too much for standard size. About the wear, I am rebuilding a totaled engine, all the bearings were gone, crank and...

    oversized cam bearings

My cam seems to be quite worn, not only cam journals but also cam bushing is eliptical (I call "bushing" an opening in the block in which cam rotates) so boring it will be necessary but I don't have oversized bearings 9on the other end I have new cam) Can someone tell me if there is a place...

    Ebay Distrbutors. Any thoughts/experience?

Get a new, late model duraspark II (magnetic pick up) and ignition box. More reliable set up for about $200. I was also researching on quality of ebay HEI distributors about a year ago. Yet I found no one having it installed.

    pistons for 302w

Would milled, shorter block (-0.020") require shorter pushrods or milling of valves too?

    Heads vs Piston clearance

it also depends what block you are using. in '72+ years ford increased block height by nearly 0.2". You should be safe with low volume heads and moderate (<0.5") valve lift

    pistons for 302w

I decided to put new pistons to 1973 302w (with stock heads). Is it true that pistons are interchangeable among 302's (1968-late 90s)? Also, there are many flat-top pistons with reliefs for 4 valves. Is there any reason for the 4 reliefs in 2-valve/cylinder engine?

    glass restoration

If it is delaminating it means it is not possible to restore the glass? New windshield will not work for me at this moment. The whitish stuff seems to be not on the surface

    anyone put a j car.. r&p. in a 65-66

I have r&p from 95 pontiac grand am, I have not installed it but it looks to fit quite well. why? - grandam has only about 1/2 inch shorter spindle's rotating diameter, which improves turning radius compared to all other r&p systems I have heard of. - tie rod ends fit to spindles (yet I don't...

Found a few threads about steering columns. Is it true steering column and shaft cannot be separated from the steering box on the 67 (non-collapsible) year?

    engine disassembly

rocker can be accessed by removing valve cover only so you don't really have to go very deep. how did you figure out that the rocker is a problem? bad compression?

any info. on taurus rack&pinion swap

taurus has too short spindles compared to stang's. their length basically determine the turning radius, which I guess is the most critical part of this conversion. You'd better look at j-car r&p - e.g. 95 pontiac grand am spindles are nearly the same length as at least 67 year

    bearings which one

I have just taken the crank out of the engine with totaled bearings; it had about 0.1" freewill while the book I have recommends maximum 0.012". So time to replace them. There are many types of bearings - standard bimetal or performance trimetal or x-metal... wondering if it is worth to go with...
