    '69 Taillight Panel Replacement

I've only done some of the simplest body work but need to replace a badly-repaired taillight panel on a '69 that I inherited last year. Looking at a couple of websites, I see that this is said to be one of the simpler body panel replacements but how much am I taking on here? Looked at a local...

Dash pads vs. dash pad covers?

Good bit of difference in the price of a new pad ($350) vs. the covers ($70) for a 69. If you repaired your dash pad with a cover, were you satisfied with the end result or did you wish you just spent the extra $ and got the Ford tooling one? Somehow, I think I know the answer by looking at the...

    Front End Rebuild--Made in China?

Getting ready to do the whole works, springs, ball joints, etc. but before I begin, are the parts the vintage Mustang parts places sell any good and does the quality vary from one vendor to another? I've had mixed results, depending on the item. For example, a wheel cylinder from a 'vintage'...

    Brake pedal effort, manual brakes

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I thought that might be the case with drum/drum. Had a '79 Ford truck with manual brakes and it was a horse if you had to haul it down very quickly, and that, with discs/drums.

    Brake pedal effort, manual brakes

'69 w/302, replaced wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, hoses, the works, on the front. Pedal effort seems too high--maybe 40-50 lbs.? Everything else we drive has PB and just maybe I've forgotten just how much effort's required! What's 'reasonable' pedal effort for a normal, in-town, controlled...

    '69 Tire Size

Stock fastback, 302 2bbl w/auto, std rear end, presumably standard wheels. What tire size is preferred? What's on there now is 205/75-14's. Car has been stored 6+ years and while the Armstrongs that are on there look OK, I seem to recall my old '79 Ford truck that sat for most of the year and...

    Anti-Theft for Earlier Mustangs?

What's a good fuel line lock or valve? I've been looking for a surface-mount valve but don't see these any more at either the hardware store or auto supply. AND--has anyone considered just using a boot, like some police or security services use to prevent it from being moved?

    Anti-Theft for Earlier Mustangs?

I'm restoring a '69 fastback and while it's driveable, i'd like a bit more peace of mind knowing I'd taken some antitheft measures as I don't have a garage to store it in. Outside of a couple of kill switches wired into the distributor circuit, I'm thinking of putting a fuel line cutoff near the...
