2000 v6 auto 66k miles. This just started happening that when i start my car cold I have no oil pressure, then after a few mins of driving it all the sudden flicks on to normal oil pressure.... what gives? Could an oil pressure sending unit just flick on like that? and once it initially flicks...

I think I will do the fuel filter idea! Also, I have changed my valve covers and put on a new pcv - when i took the old PCV off, oil literally poored out of it!... stupid ford engineers...... I think I will just delete the pcv and put a breather on my valve cover AND seafoam the living hell out...

hey i had to replace mine on my 2000 about 8 months ago - pain in the ASS but i got the grommet for like 6 bucks and took me 2 hours to do! the dealer waanted $420 to do it!! its way easier getting the neck out then back in. atleast for me and my little girly arm muscles

UPDATE! So... I did the driver side valve cover fix :99-00 3.8L Mustang Driver's Side Valve Cover Fix I got the newer valve cover. In doing so, I pulled out of PCV from the old cover and oil poored out... :nonono: so that proves what was going on. pcv sucking in oil, shooting right...

I have this same noise... I'm going to mess with it tonite on my drive home from work. Mine does it at idle, like at a stop light or somthing, AND while driving. I sure hope its that peice by the windsheild.

i guess i should have said its CRANKING fine, its just not firing up like it used to? it will sometimes fire and sputter then shutoff, but never just dies once its truely running.

recently, maybe 6 months, its become alot more common for me to have problems starting my car. It will crank, sound like it starts , sputter and shake alot and then die... sometime my gauges will freak out and the needles will go all the way to the right on every guage, then after 5 sec. or so...

in september last year i had a P0143 ( i hope im remembering that right ) but it was for small leak in the ecap system, leaky tank grommet, fixed that and the code turned off by itself. nothing since then :(

2000 auto v6 -- Mine also has this problem. I was convinced that someone adjusted my shift point for my 1->2 gear shift. Mine will shift at 1000rpm at normal acceleration, and only 1200rpm if I punch it.... and what ive noticed- the first 2 or first 3 shifts after starting my car, are alot...

So I have this sound in my dash, it sounds like a fan with a bad bearing or somthing, it is not affected by climate controls at all. its on constantly. loudest at idle. sometimes i think i associate it with bumps at higher speeds, but maybe its just faintly chirping at that speed too..... WHAT...

Did you ever find a fix? Mine also throws a P0442 after being on the highway for a few miles, usually when im a 1/2 tank or less!

00 v6 auto I have been having the code p0442 (small leak in evap system) go off lately. It seems to happen when Im at about 1/2 talk or less, then reset computer and refill tank, and it doesnt go on again untill about 1/2 tank or less... I just got a new gas cap, hoping to solve the computer...
