    Rear End Whining

If the noise started immediately after seal replacement, I would say either the nut was tightened not enough or too much. Probably more chance of too tight. There is a crush sleeve that is betweeen the two bearings, that if tightened too much, causes too much preload on the pinion shaft...

    clutch took a dump.

It sounds like the throw-out bearing is shot. If you change it right away, you might get lucky and only need the bearing. If you keep running it, the pressure plate will be destroyed also. I really don't know about the spline question. I depends on which transmission you have. Can you find a tag...

    Yet Another Starter Problem

Sounds like a new starter is the best idea. Not only could the solenoid be bad, but the armature could have a dead spot also. Good Luck!

    Yet Another Starter Problem

When it does not start, do you hear a click, no sound, multiple clicks? When it does start, does it crank normally or slow? Give us a little more info and maybe we can help.

    Whining issue

If it stops when the clutch is released, it sound like a definite transmission noise. If the sound does not change when the gears are changed, then my guess would be the input shaft bearing.

    check engine light

P0174 is system too lean on bank 2 and P0411 is secondary air air system with incorrect flow. More than likely you have a vacuum leak on bank 2 somewhere. I would check for any vacuum hoses disconnected, broken or cracked. Also check for vacuum leaks around intake gaskets. Try spraying some carb...

    help the newbie pls

A couple of questions. Did the speedo work at all after dealer installed new sensor? Did the check engine light stay out for any length of time or was it still on when you picked the car up? I can't believe any reputable dealer would charge you for a repair and send the car out no better than...

Stock PBR Claw or Brembo 4 pison calipers

My Cobra had the brembo calipers when I got it so I can't compare the difference from stock. They do stop very well, although I am sure stock ones do as well. I will soon be needing to replace the pads and I can't find any info on them. Are the pads different from stock? The only info I can...

    Fuel float/ gas guage issue

If your gauge was accurate before, I would say you will need to remove the sender again. It sounds like maybe the float is not travelling all the way. May be rubbing the side of the tank? Possibly you got the wrong part and is not compatible with the original gauge.

    Alignment/ tire questions

Hey everybody, I am fairly new to the forum and I have a question regarding handling characteristics of 35 series tires. I purchased the cobra a couple of months ago and it has 285/35/18's on the rear and 265/35/18's on the front. The car had been lowered with H&R springs, but it sat too low for...

    strange noise

Try removing the fan/accesory belt and see if the noise goes away. If it does, try spinning all of the pulleys by hand to see if any are noisy.

    chamber/caster strut mount

If they are sure the lower control arm is bent, then that is the place to start. Replace the bent arm and then if the cross caster is still out, you could try the camber/caster plate. Caster is not adjustable with original equipment parts and should not need adjustment if suspension is stock and...

    1999 cobra PLUG PROBLEM

The oil is obviously coming from outside the cylinder since the electrodes look good. You apparently have a problem with leaking spark plug seals under the valve cover. The valve cover needs to be removed to access them. If someone had the valve cover off, they could have lost the seals.

Lets see some Cobras with wheels!

    ? about frying sound

It sounds normal. The condensation drain tube is probably dripping on the exhaust pipe causing the sizzling sound.

To buy or not to buy

I have been Mustang-less for over 27 years. I owned 79 Cobra that I purchased new and totaled in 1980. I now have an opportunity to buy a 2001 Cobra/w 56,000 miles. I have been tempted over the years to get another Mustang but could not afford it usually. The 79 I owned was a 2.3 turbo model...
