    Rear Gears

The RPM difference between 3.90s and 4.10s will only be 100 regardless of the tire height. 3.90s will not be that much different than 4.10s .If you are set on Richmond gears, I will ask the person that did my install if he knows if Richmond gear whine or not.

    Rear Gears

Unless you have a really short 18" tire, then the tire height should nearly the same as the 20". 255/45/18 is 27.04" and 275/35/20 is 27.58. The 18" has more sidewall.

    Rear Gears

I was going suggest 4.10s and a taller tire but there aren't too many 20" tires that have an OD of at least 28" unless you want to pay $400 per. tire.

    question..

I have read that the FRPP, JPC and C&L intake maifolds do cause some loss of power down low and don't gain power until 5000 RPMs. I too would get intake/tune first followed by gears.

    Rear Gears

I haven't heard too much about the Richmond gears, so I am not sure if they are susceptible to gear whine like motives. Motives are made of a harder material then FRPP gears which may make more noise. I have 4.10s and my car is a d/d. I drive over 50 miles per. day on the hwy. Honestly it's...

    Ford vs Motive gears question

Motives are usually louder because of a harder compound and a different machining process.

    Suggestions to gain low-end torque

Have you ever driven an 05+ with 4.10s? True with 4.10s, 1st gear will be short but you get use to it.

    Bassani Catted X-pipe???

Sounds like an exhaust leak. When I installed my pypes catted x, it had the same sputtering and hissing noise. I had an exhaust shop weld the cats and tighten everything. After that the sound improved. No more hissing and sputtering.

    NSR Cams & smog testing

I have the comp nsr stage 2. They are not as lopey as hotrods or thumpers but they are still noticeable. Most tuners will automatically set the idle at 750-775.

    NSR Cams & smog testing

It's all in the tune but from what I have heard and read, cams with a really aggressive lope and idle like thumpers and mutha-thumpers are a little harder to pass smog with.

Sold my 03 GT, bought an 08 GT/CS

I am considering going from an 06 Mustang GT to an 03/04 cobra. I test drove on 03 Cobra vert last week and it was more comfortable than I expected. The ride was not harsh at all. The only grip is the the location of the shifter.

    Splice in X-Pipe???

Pypes x-pipe design is ideal for flow. I do have the pypes catted X and I had one of the best exhaust shops in San Diego county do the install. Yes, I have done a mid-pipe install before but the pypes involved cutting and I wanted the cats welded on. The owner, Ed Hanson is one of the pioneers...

    Splice in X-Pipe???

The splice in X may not make that much of a difference. Here is video comparing stock h and slp lm with a splice in x and slp lm. I can't hear that much of difference. If you want a catted x, then get on that includes the cats. BBK, Pypes, magnflow, bassani, and slp make them. New these...

Want to change up the sound of my exhaust

I see you posted your JBAs for sale. You thought they sounded similar to MACs. I really don't think so. JBAs are not as deep sound as MACs and will not drone nearly as much. Don't get me wrong, JBAs do sound good. In fact I had them on my car for nearly a year.

Want to change up the sound of my exhaust

You can't go wrong with either stock catted H and muffler delete or O/R H and JBA. A friend of mine had O/R X and JBAs. At idle and part throttle it sounded awesome but was a little raspy at higher RPMs. When he installed hot rod cams, the sound improved. I have a vid of his car before cams...
