New Guy wants to get garaged 65 Fastback on road

Well Sir, welcome and congrats on starting your project. My son was 13 when he purchased his 66 coupe, that was 3 years ago. He stripped every thing off it to a rolling shell and we worked through all the systems to the point where today, at 16, he is driving his dark gray primered 66 coupe...

do you consider working on you classic a "break from reality or big hassle" ?

Sounds as though you are heading in the right dirrection. Dont worry about it. If you think it will take 3 months to get the car on the road, tell everyone 3 years, because that is probably a lot more realistic. Lets face it. For the vast majority of us, this is not our 40 hr a week job...

Unpacked the front end rebuild kit that the man in brown delivered 2 days ago, looked for a new spedo cable and rear leafs but since today is homcoming for the 16yr old owner - all this will probably have to wait until next weekend to actually install.... He is one lucky boy, his date AND...

Strange question about a C-4 trans

Ok, so we installed the engine, trans and torque converter. But I have a new question. How much AFT should it take to fill the c-4 completely? We put 1.5 quarts in the converter before we installed it, and another 5 in through the fill tube, and it is full. I dont know why, but somewhere...

Met the girl of my dreams today

Well I will do my very best - there is a reason why I work on old cars. Ok, spent the last 30 minutes trying to upload pic's. The system will let me upload pics from the "my pictures" file in "my documents".... but all the recent photos are in the "Olympus Master" and I cant seem to find it...

Strange question about a C-4 trans

Good Morning Folks, With all the help I have already recieved from this forum, I feel a bit guilty, like I am taking advantage because I have been of little or no help to you all, but none the less, here I go again. 66 Coupe. I-6 and Automatic. The transmission was sticking - or the...

    is it possible....???

Hello board, we have not been active for a little while. Life and all its distractions have placed "rusty" on the back burner for a little while. Anyway we are now back on it and have a question for those of you who would know far more than I. Is there a steering column that we can swap...

    question on stance

We have already purchased the GT rear and are planning the Shelby front. Body parts we still need are the passenger front fender and front valance. We are also looking for a shelby type scoop to install. We will not be changing the trans unless the auto craps out, then it will be another...

    question on stance

He is looking for a larger tire diameter in the rear than front. Think back to the 70's and 80's when you would put on air shocks and the largest tire that would fit. His car, with the 6 cyl and all will probably not turn them, but his goal is to "make it look so fast, nobody will even...

    question on stance

Ok folks, You all have helped us out much already on my sons 66 coupe but to re-cap before I ask today's question. We are restomoding (slightly) a 66 coupe with a 6 cyl and automatic for him to drive in 2 years when he turns 16. We have taken care of the floor pans, lowered the seat...
