So driving home, I smell that familiar electrical burning smell.. Didn't notice anything funny.. so I kept driving.. 3 min. later car just shuts off.. pull over and pop the hood, and smoke is comming from the ccrm. I had it towed home and took off the CCRM and it rattles like a pack of tic tacs...

So i disconnected everything fan switch related and the fan seems to be operating fine..low speed fan comes on around 210*... maybe the switch is dead?? Anyways, I can hear clicking comming from what seems to be the CCRM is that normal. BTW temp sensor is 3 weeks old.

so after playing with it a bit more. I decided to just beat up the ccrm a little with a cresant wrench. As the temperature gauge got almost to the L in normal. The low fan came on for about 5 sec.. and turned on again a few minutes later, like it was working. So I should also consider the...

I had the ECT connected as it should. As I pulled the codes, The low speed fan came on first, then high speed. I've since upluged the battery, to clear the system. Pulled codes again, with the same results.

So I don't have a voltmeter, suppose I could pick one up though. However, I just pulled codes, and this is what I picked up KOEO 564 - Electro-Drive Fan circuit failure So I guess the circuit has failed, I checked all the fuses and all of those where good. Ideas?

So after checking fuses, and grounds, and all possible electrical connections. Still have no clue as to why the low speed fan is not comming on. If I unplug the electrical connector to the temp sensor, the fan comes on. So does the check engine light... I really don't want to have to take it...

thanks for all the replies. I changed the sensor, and also learned the hardway. However, the fan is still not comming on when hot. Maybe a bad ground? Or a freyed wire? Possible fuse? Any other ideas?

im pretty sure the fan is comming on. It does for sure with the A/C. How do I test to see if it comes on without? Just wait till it heats up?

oh forgot to add, i also have a new radiator cap, with a pressure release lever.

I can feel it through the wheel.. I can feel the little pop right before I hit the stops on both the left and right turns. Feels like its starting to get worse.. I'm assuming it could be because my springs and shocks are beyond bad.

Well, I know my suspension is shot.. It squeeks over every bump. However, now when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or the right, it makes like a clicking or binding/bumping sound/feel. Sounds like maybe my power steering is going? Any ideas on what I should check out?
