New Dyno #'s I should be scared

Jason, as far as the compresion ratio goes, the heads have 61cc combustion chambers and the short block is out of a 94 t-bird, so I'm guessing it's around 9.5 to 1. Tex, that 4v single turbo set-up would be killer in a fox! As far as the B&G hot side goes...well it works, but it's a real PIA...

New Dyno #'s I should be scared

txstang84, the motor combo is TFS 170cc heads, Track heat intake and their small cam, 70mm bbk tb (you can hear that stupid thing whistling in the video at start up), egr delete, underdrive pullies, a/c and smog delete, black magic fan, msd 6al. Again it's all on a stock cast piston shortblock...

New Dyno #'s I should be scared

I hear ya on turning the boost down a little. When Kurgan tuned it about a year ago, it made 505hp and 497 ftbls at 10 psi. When he started he said when we hit 500 we'll call it good. The weather that day was 95* and humid as hell. Where as yesterday it was about 60* in the shop and about half...

New Dyno #'s I should be scared

Got a chance to turn the rollers yesterday to check the A/F#'s and It made more than I was expecting! The reason for the scare is cause it's a stock short block with cast pistons and about 100,000 miles....lol That was with 12lbs of boost. One question I've got is what is a good % number to...

    Rollbar question???

Well....show's you how much I know..... I guess I need to do a little more research, get a nhra rule book. I'm trying to get ahold of a guy that did some work on my car a few years ago. Did an awsome job rebuilding my torque boxes, and quoted me something like $600 for a mild steel bar. Only...

    Rollbar question???

Rick....I'm in the norther Illinois area....60 miles or so from Chicago. I'm not a huge fan of the doorbars on the MM stuff, but as a swing out, I'm sure it would be fine. Kinda like the Wolfe products, but they are a little on the pricey side. I suppose you get what you pay for. Any one...

    Rollbar question???

I'm to the point of needing a rollbar. Running quicker that 11.5 and the body lines are starting to not line up anymore... Any one have any suggestions on a mailorder rollbar that fits nicely? I realy want one that fits nice and tight to the interior, would like to be able to still use the...

    Code 1:6 from pats

It's funny you say that, because I just talked to my brother-in-law and he said that the battery had a couple of bad cells in it. I'm going to pick up a new one tomarrow when I go over there to tinker with it some more. I was also planning on checking all the grounds, because it was a northern...

    Code 1:6 from pats

Oh and another thing about the dealer and their compitance.......after getting it back home, and doing some looking around we found that the MAF housing was broke. It's in the fender well because of the vortec piping, and the car has 19" wheels, which caused and interferance when at full lock...

    Code 1:6 from pats

Thanks for the links. The dealer didn't say anything about the code that the pats gave. We found that after it was back in the garage at home. When it shut's down you can't get anything out of the obd2 port. If I remember right it says something like "bad link" or something to that nature...

Boost = dipstick being pushed out

So if your running an external breather set-up, you should do away with the pcv system??? When it was tuned I had the egr sytem removed from the programing, and no longer have any of the egr stuf on the motor anymore if that makes any difference.

Need to freshen up short block?

Bob set the tune with 19* total advance if I remember corectly. When he put it on the dyno I told him that it was a high milage cast piston short block. He said that he wasn't worried about that and once he hit 500 he would call it good. Four pulls later and he was done. The car drives great and...

Boost = dipstick being pushed out

I don't have the tube from the oil fill to the tb hooked up. The #5 and #3 spark plugs have considerable oil on them so I'm guessing that the rings in those cylinders are shot. It's got a new pcv valve in it and every time I have checked it it has been in place. I'v got a blow through MAF set...

Need to freshen up short block?

The short block in question has 90,000+ miles on it, and has two cylinders that the rings are shot in. The combo is TFS h/i/c, 70mm turbo making 11 psi. It made 507hp and 497ftlb to the wheels with a Bob Kurgan tune at his shop. I know I'm going to hear the whole "buy a good block" shpeal...

    Code 1:6 from pats

Has anyone had any luck with the pats code 1:6? I'm not sure where the best place to start looking for bad conection between the ECM and dash would be. It does it so intermitantly that its hard to trouble shoot. The car is a 2001 GT with a vortec V2, offroad h-pipe, and flowmaster exhaust...

Boost = dipstick being pushed out

I just want to get some feed back on this topic. The short block in my mustang is stone stock, cast piston, 90,000+ mile, tired little 302. I've got a breather in the oil fill and had to make up a little catch devise for the oil that would make it through that. Then the other night after...

    help with picking a clutch

My 89 made 505hp and 500ftlbs at the wheels and chewed up a Ram Power Grip HD that was suposto be good for 600 or 650. I just put in a Mcleod RST twin disc, and so far I'm very happy with it. It's holding great and the pedal effort is considerably less!!!

    Brakes help please

Yeah I'm not sure if the sn95 cables out of a junkyard would work. Good point. I didn't want to fight with some half ceised up junkyard cables...that's why I bought new ones. If enough internet searching is done, You can find just about anything you need to know about this conversion...

    Brakes help please

Latemodel Restoration is where I got mine. You could go to a junk yard and try to find a pair, but IMO your better of going with new ones. Here's the cables that run to the rear caliper. 1987-92 Mustang Rear Parking Brake Cable for Rear Disc Brakes at LRS - Same Day Shipping! You will...

    Brakes help please

I could see where cutting down the studs a little would do the trick. I never thought of that. You will still have to elongate one of the holes in the firewall, because of a difference in the bolt pattern from the fox booster to the sn95 booster. I believe it was the bottom hole on the...
