    Fuel pump question

I have 3/8 fuel lines going to what should be a 3/8 inlet/outlet fuel pump. It seems like the outlet is 5/16? My 3/8 fitting is way too big, did they make mismatched inlet/ outlet sizes? Or is there a special small fitting to screw your fuel line into?

Door handle latch rod too long

I finally got the missing rod clip for the other side. Same deal, door handle rod 1/2" too long. Cut it, welded it, works perfect. As much as I'm happy that it's all good I wish I knew how this is possible?

Door handle latch rod too long

Well I removed the rod, cut 1/2" out of it and welded it back together. Works perfectly but why did this happen?????? I hate threads that don't get resolved. I made it work but it defies logic :chin

Door handle latch rod too long

I'm totally loosing my mind over this. I put on new door handles and the latch rod is inexplicably about 1/2" too long. I can push it up to connect it but then the flapper at the handle is pushed away so the button can't reach it. I took it apart again and used the old hardware that connects to...

    65 door adjustment frustration

With an extra set of hands we got it all aligned quite nicely. Of course there is still the hood and front to deal with. Have to finish the under hood stuff first.

    65 door adjustment frustration

If anything the door is too close to the post but it's as far out as the hinge will allow. I test fitted the fender and the front of the door has to come up a bit. Got a friend coming over Mon to give me a hand. Even with the door cradle it's a pain to do alone. The back of the door is pretty good

    65 door adjustment frustration

Yup you're right. I had the post in as far as it could go, made sense to me. In desperation I moved it outward and the bottom came in considerably. The physics of that makes zero sense to me. It's pretty good now, won't know for sure until I put the fender on. Thanks for the input

    65 door adjustment frustration

I'm going crazy with this. The bottom back of the door is sticking out about 1/4". The upper hinge is out as far as it can go and the lower in as far as it can go. Had it perfect in primer before disassembly for paint Any suggestions? I thought about shimming the hinge out from the car but it...

Brake pedal assembly to push rod?

I can't find anything that looks like my setup, totally strange. It's a factory 289 power brake car, upgraded to front discs. I removed that mystery arm and it looks like the push rod from the new dual master will hook up to the pedal arm like yours did. This car has more weirdness than you...

Brake pedal assembly to push rod?

I upgraded to a dual master in my 65 mustang. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how the new much longer push rod attaches to the pedal arm. Originally there was a piece that went between the two, it's in the picture below but I don't even recall how that worked. Is it possible that with the new setup...

Paint and Body Oh boy ,another coupe to fast back conversion !

Hmm, funny I thought it seemed far more difficult than one would think. If I did it I'm sure people would be looking at it wondering what went wrong. Outstanding work and fast!

    Thanks, that's great!

    67 fuel pump on a 65 289?

I have 3/8" fuel line and 3/8" sender but the 289 fuel pump only comes with 5/16" inlet. The 66+ fuel pump looks totally different but is it still the same in principle and can be used on the 65 motor? I assume it can but can't find any info on it. I don't think any changes were made to the motor?

‘65 brake pedal bracket/steering column question

If I understand the question correctly. The support bracket rests on the bottom of the dash so it's above the dash. It sits on the dash lip

Paint and Body Oh boy ,another coupe to fast back conversion !

I find this so very intimidating, to get everything lined up perfectly so it all fits as it should . I wouldn't be able to sleep thinking about it. I welded in new floors, inner rockers, torque boxes, and so much more but this is crazy over my head. You do amazing work!

    Ford GT40 paint color/code

I think it's midnight blue metallic and may have been used on Mustangs as well? The picture I posted here looks very much like it did in person, at least on my computer and phone for that matter

    Ford GT40 paint color/code

I forgot about this thread, it's been a while. I'm not sure if I ever found the paint code but it's supposed to be one of the stock GT colors for the 2005/6 Ford GT so your paint jobber should be able to look it up. I haven't got to the project I want to use it on, hopefully next year. I know...
