    Pop Under Load

Tests Yeah I'd pull codes too if you haven't already (I current have no codes). I've also done a cylinder balance test and a compression test both came back looking good, you may want to do one or both of those also.

"POP" from front end somewhere when pressing brake pedal. Only certain speeds

Same deal My car does the same exact thing. It IS the brakes. I can get it to happen everytime I back out of my driveway and then take off down the street, the first time I touch my brakes to slow down I get a pop on the front (drivers side I think but its hard to tell). I've got new Napa...

To mod, or not to mod...what do you think??

+1000 As long as the car is in nice shape and we are talking tasteful bolt-ons I could not agree more. Life is short people, these cars were made to be run. Have some fun with it. Will the value of good condition foxes increase over time? Maybe a little. Will regular foxes ever be...

Now code 96. WTF? Engine wont stay running and backfires BAD

code *EDIT, just saw you referenced another post, I'll go read that one now* I'm pretty sure a code 96 just means the computer logged the fuel pump lost power at some point. Could be just from stalling if I'm not mistaken. I don't think thats the root of your actual issue.

    low rpm miss under load

hmm Same issue after swapping heads huh... I have no clue then I guess. Maybe it's time to pull the motor and have it looked at. I'm no stranger to troubleshooting / wrench turning but I have not been able to figure this one out. 2 different reputable shops have not bee able to nail down the...

    4 lug brake upgrades

brakes If you don't have the money or want to take the plunge to 5 lug your best bet is just to get the stock system freshened up. I may go 5 lug later on, but for now here is what I did: MM stainless steel sleeves $30 Napa rotors and pads about $120 New shoes and springs (drums if...

    Head Gasket replacement info

my question I guess I should have been more specific... I am unsure about the EXACT procedure when putting the rockers back on. TDC and all that. My Chiltons made it sound like you find TDC, tighten down certain ones, rotate the crank 90deg and then do the same to a few others, I had...

    Drum brake smoking

Springs *Edit, just realized you are already done* I also recommend picking up a new bag of springs. When I did mine (also my first time doing drums) I found 1 of my old springs wasn't doing its job and the little ratcheting gear thing was not engaging because the spring was too...

    Head Gasket replacement info

I am going to be helping a buddy with an 150,000 mile 88GT do a headgasket replacement. Hes a newbie wrench turner so it will mostly be me :D = I am pretty comfortable removing the heads, not exactly sure what if anything to look for on the heads themselves as issues (to see if they need a...

    differential covers

wrong Wrong. The cap on top is the vent cap (although you can fill it there, you will still need to remove the fill plug to know when you have the correct amount of fluid in there). I just had my diff open a few days ago. As I said the fill hole is on the driver side back (or front...

    differential covers

fill plug The fill plug is on the driver side of the back of the diff (opposite the cover) right near where the driveshaft connects.

    Distributor boot? Yey or ney?

On Another vote for on. Mine is more on the black side than brown and I think my stockish engine bay looks better with it.

    Trac Lok rebuild complete

Kit Ford Racing M-4700-C is the part number, I paid $117 shipped from Summit. The only other items you need to complete the install are: Some Ford friction modifier to soak the clutches in (you will also need a 4oz bottle to put in the diff UNLESS you use synthetic LS oil which already has...

tip You DID remove the big washer when you removed the crank bolt right? If you did not, there is your problem.
