    It's been a while.... I'm back!

You guessed it, my sad little Mustang won't run again. This time I'm sure it's the battery. It all started about 3 weeks ago, I got it running where it would hold a charge for days. Then I put in a new radio and it held a charge great for a couple days. I started it up one day and it took a bit...

    Ahhhh..........

Well, I finally got the ol' Mustang fixed. Turns out the fuel pump might have been the problem. It wore out, causing me to crank the car over so many times that it wore the battery down. Plus the worn out pump might have been causing the dead battery by causing a short. I don't know, I'm just...

It took me 3 months... I finaly got it goin'!

Well, It took me three months (and well over $300), but I've finally found what's wrong with my '87 LX. It's a combination of a junk battery and the fuel pump. I went and got a new pump ($109) and tomorrow my dad and I are going to put it in. Then all it will need is an $80 battery and new...

That's your opinion. I on the other hand would rather try and fix the rust and make it look good.

1987 LX.... fix it or scrap it!?

Hi guys, As I was once again trying to find the mysterious battery drain on my '87 LX hatchback, I got to thinking. Is this really worth my time and money? I thought I would ask for you guys' opinions. My Mustang: 1987 LX Hatchback 2.3L w/ 85,000 miles (runs great, when you get it...

Mad as heck.... '87 won't start... Again!

Thank you robbo1987*2.3*! I have already replaced the TFI. It will start sometimes, so could the pickup coil in the distributor have an intermitent dead spot in it?

Mad as heck.... '87 won't start... Again!

You guessed it.... If you're reading this, you are reading yet another post about my miserable $300 Mustang. Today: Got home from school, decided to take Mustang to auto parts store to do in-car alternator check. As always, you have to jumpstart it, because the battery will have died...

    Again?! I can't believe it!

Hey, You guys will never guess what just happened today. My Mustang won't start again. I got it running last week, but the battery kept draining on me (again). I got the idea that maybe the alternator was the problem. Yesterday, I took the alternator off, and today I had it tested. It's fine...

What's the darkest legal window tint?

I want to put window tint on my Mustang. I think tinted windows look really cool, but I don't want to get a ticket for having my windows too dark. Does anyone know what the darkest legal window tint is in Iowa? Thanks!

    It runs, but battery drains?

Hey, I got my Mustang running, but now I've discovered I have a battery drain. I have replaced the battery, ignition switch, TFI module, starter solenoid, and both + and - battery cables. I've tested the alternator and it is putting out 14.6 volts, which is more than enough. I have removed...

    Diesel Mustang?

Glad to see one of our soldiers agrees with me! To the rest of you, thanks for your input. I think that maybe down the line, Ford will put a diesel in the Mustang, for the same reason (fuel economy). As for now, I'll stick with the gas 2.3 in my hatchback, but who knows, maybe you'll see my '87...

Thanks to all who looked and responded to my post. The suggestions worked! Yesterday I went out and found that there was a hose unhooked coming from the throttle body, I hooked it up, and it started! :nice:

    Diesel Mustang?

Has anyone ever tried to put a 2.3 diesel engine out of an '80s Ranger in a Mustang? How about a Perkins or Cummins 4cyl.? I think diesels are awsome!

    Still Won't Start.... Now What?

You Rock! Thanks man, that helps. I hope I didn't damage any lines that are hard to replace. If that happened, it might be easier to just remove the engine and fix all of the leaks then. Ha Ha Anyway, thanks a bunch.
