What should I expect from new setup?

I recently tore down my 89 LX to change the headgaskets, and while i have the heads off i have decided to go the GT40P route. Here is all of the changes i am making. - E7 heads changed to freshly machined GT40p's, no porting. - Stock intake manifolds to Ford Racing Cobra (GT40) manifolds. -...

Carpet installed - Car won't start now

if the switch really becomes a problem, i have heard you can splice the 4 wires together and then the switch will be always "closed" or whatever terminology is required. Either way, you could start your car with the clutch off the floor (not a suggestion)

Have stock heads cleaned/rebuilt or buy GT40?

I have BBK equal length shorties, and they are pretty bulky and it appears it would be a pain with the "P" heads. I remember someone saying they cut or modified a spark plug socket and used a wrench on it to install plugs without changing headers, does anyone know who that was or do they...

Have stock heads cleaned/rebuilt or buy GT40?

Where could I get GT40's for 200 bucks? I know the yards here have a ton of explorers, but most of them have been ripped up and are almost completely gutted. I would like the performance boost of the GT40s, but do they require special gaskets or bolts? any modification?

Have stock heads cleaned/rebuilt, or any other options?

Okay, heres the deal. I'm still deciding on how I want to do this. I recently tore down the motor of my 89 LX to get to the headgaskets (which i thought were blown, turns out the previous owner decided to put the motor back together without the dowel pins, and the head gaskets didnt set right...

If he didnt have the heads checked, it could be a cracked head. coolant mixing with oil is usually a pretty good sign of a cracked head.

high speed fan not coming on?

how much is it to replace the whole CCRM? would any junkyard cars possibly have it? I have heard ford windstars and escorts also use CCRMS. I would rather just replace the whole unit, the corners of this one are rusted and im pretty sure its defective.

high speed fan not coming on?

Can water pumps fail without water pouring from the weep hole? The water pump doesnt leak at all and hasnt ever given me any problems, and it visually appears to be the original pump. I have noticed that as the car runs, there is a low-pitched intermittent hum that is coming from the very...

high speed fan not coming on?

I changed nothing and now the high speed works, low doesnt. Before, only the low speed would come on and the temp gauge would hit the "L" in normal, and eventually the fan on low would bring temps back down to the middle of the gauge. Now the high speed fan wont even turn on until the "L"...

    95 3.8 Overheating - Clogged Radiator? Fan?

is the air deflector in place? These cars came equipped with an air deflector on the bottom of the car that helps pull air over the radiator. I know its more essential with the fox body mustangs, but it couldnt hurt to check. Have you verified the temps with an infrared thermometer?

high speed fan not coming on?

a bad ground where? I hate to ask so many questions, but im not too good with wiring or a voltmeter. Could this bad ground cause the fan to work intermittently?

high speed fan not coming on?

I dont have the circuit breaker thing attached, the plug just goes straight into the fan. I noticed something odd today, as I was driving home the temp gauge was sitting a little above the "R" in normal. the oil pressure gauge will usually sit right on the A or L in NORMAL. When i turned on...

high speed fan not coming on?

When i turn the A/C on max, the high speed fan does not come on. with the heat on max, the fan does not come on. No matter what i do, I cant get the high speed fan to come on. Only low speed comes on. I checked the relay for the fan in the power dist. box, and it was good. What else can i...

high speed fan not coming on?

I have a 94 GT. Brand new OEM radiator, 70/30 water-coolant ratio. Long story short, i was using the heater in my car this morning (it was 43 degrees this morning in Clearwater, FL where i live.) and I noticed the temp gauge was climbing, when it hit the "L" in Normal, I pulled over and shut...
