searching for a good topcoat wax, polish, sealant etc

Yeah, you do have to redo it more often. That is the downside.

searching for a good topcoat wax, polish, sealant etc

I've always used the Mother's 3-phase system myself; not sure how the pre-wax stage you're doing with a buffer compares with doing that by hand, but their topcoat wax is a pure carnauba wax - no added cleaners, etc. It's easy on/off, etc. and gives a nice shine, but being a natural carnauba...

    Dash Light Issue

On the '01, you'll need an ABS code reader to read the codes. It plugs into the OBD-II diagnostic port. There are two data networks in the car, both of which are accessible via that connector: one is used by the ECU; the ABS controller is on the other one. So an OBD-II engine code scanner...

    Dash Light Issue

The cranking, etc. sounds like a battery/charging system issue. The ABS light could be a wheel sensor, but the intermittency sounds a lot like what happened when my ABS computer went out. Go to an auto parts store and have 'em check the codes.

    Fox body station wagon....umm wow

Yeah, the Fairmont was built on the Fox chassis, so that one'd be a pretty easy conversion, really: they just slapped an aero Mustang front end on it.

    hatch rattling! help!

Those are for the doors, not the hatch. If your hatch isn't holding open, you need new gas struts for it; those are all that hold it up. Good news is the aftermarket ones at AutoZone or wherever are lifetime warranty.

    hatch rattling! help!

All of the above re: striker adjustment/bushing and weatherstripping, plus it might not hurt to lubricate the latch mechanism too - friction in there can make it harder to shut.

    Should this be hooked up?

OK, I double-checked in the service manual and there is a redundant safety system I'd forgotten about. My description above is correct, so far as it goes, and the vacuum line under the hood that he was asking about is the one that would normally go to the distribution manifold on the firewall...

01 COBRA CLUTCH NOISE NEED HELP!

I should also note, if the TOB is actually bad, you'll generally hear noise while the clutch is disengaged (pedal pushed in), as this is when it's got a load on it. A squeak, rattle, or chirp when the clutch is engaged probably results from the wrong clearance between the TOB and pressure...

    Should this be hooked up?

The vacuum line is to provide vacuum to the cruise control actuator so it can pull on the cable, not to tell it when the brakes are applied - that's done by an electrical switch on the pedal. Vacuum (the reduced in pressure in the intake manifold relative to the atmosphere) changes with...

01 COBRA CLUTCH NOISE NEED HELP!

The pilot bearing is mounted in the end of the crankshaft. When the clutch is engaged (transmission spinning), it's not moving at all - or rather, both sides are spinning at exactly the same speed. When the clutch is disengaged (transmission not spinning) is when there's rotation there, same...
