Back Again After A Long Absence

After about 8 years without one I finally got another stang. It's a 2000 GT with the 5spd, K&N CAI, Holley 70mm TB, cat delete, flowmasters, and some unknown brand kevlar clutch. She needs some love but she's still fun.

How to remove the trim from around the windshield and hatch window?

The rear quarter windows are something I'm still debating on working on but the molding I'm talking about is the metal that rings the windshield and the rear window on the hatch. Also how do I remove the metal cap that runs along the outside bottom of the door windows? Both of mine are loose and...

How to remove the trim from around the windshield and hatch window?

I need to pull these parts off to paint them so that they will match the newly painted body and not look like ****e. Anyone know how to get them off without breaking them?

    Rust....

The reason that you will have to sand a larger area of the paint than just the rusted spot you can see is due to the fact that the rust travels under the paint of the car where tiny amounts of moisture have gotten trapped between the paint and sheetmetal of the car. I just got done doing this...

How fast would an 85 5.0 with a 4 barrel go?

Pretty much what I thought. Just wanted to make sure. He was basing his speed of the calculated speed based upon his rpms. Was very doubtful about it since my motorcycle will only do about 170-175mph.

How fast would an 85 5.0 with a 4 barrel go?

Guy at work claims that he's had his mustang up to 167mph. Automatic, 3.08, 4 barrel carb(not sure about specs), and the tires were slightly larger than stock being the only things nonstock on it. He said he had it a 5500rpm which came out to be 167 mph. Personnally I think he's full of it but...

school me on wheels and wheel spacers

Wheel spacers are bad. Period. I've seen one fail on a Ranger on the interstate. Trashed the right front corner of the truck. As for the backspacing I'm not going to make a wrong input for you.

    Question about a Chevy

Thanks HISSIN50. He passed away about 3 months ago and this was our first opportunity to go up there (Wisconsin). She hadn't had any contact in probably 15 years since he divorced her mother (who's a complete POS (and that's nicer than what my wife says about her.)). I've been trying to find a...

You will have to pull the quad shocks and most likely hammer the wheel well some to clear the inner side of the wheel.

    Question about a Chevy

Just got home with my father-in-laws (left to my wife in his will) 2001 Monte Carlo SS and had a question. The engine is the same 3.8L that is in the Pontiac GTP (supercharged). Can I swipe the supercharger, intake, and I suppose the computer from a GTP and put in on the Monte or should I look...

    electric window

It may be either side's controls. Try unhooking the switch from the passenger side controls and try to run it up with the driverside controls and vice versa.

What size tire can I run on 15x10 Rim

I had 295's on 10" rims on the old stang. A 255 will look pretty awful on the 10" rim. The 8" would be a good choice.

    Will AC work after removal?

They evacuated the system 4 or 5 times (not sure if they used a recovery unit or not since the system didn't have any refrigerant in it) and each time they got about 1.5oz to 2.0oz of oil out. They evacuated the system multiple times due to the amount of oil they pulled out, vent temps, and...

    Who can figure this out?

Have you tried the simple check of pulling the distributor cap off and checking for moisture? Haven't seen it happen when the car was driving but you mentioned rain and snow.

    Will AC work after removal?

Run the vacuum on the system while it's operating. If the system is overcharged with oil like my civic's was (it was converted with a walmart kit from the looks of it) then the extra oil gets entrained with the refrigerant (also does damage to the compressor) and is vacuumed out. I don't know...
