    blow-by issues

Thanks for the info on the screen guys. I'll have to check out Advance for that screen but as far as anymore work is concerned it'll be a progressive approach. I'm actually getting really tired of working on this car.:nonono:

    blow-by issues

Yea, I've tried that with a pick and it didn't work and I've tried with the needle nose also. I'll try it again and just play around with it until it gives, I guess. Problem is, when I mention that part(screen) to any parts store, they say that they've never heard of such a thing. What's...

    blow-by issues

Hey all, back again. Remember that issue I was having with the smoke coming through the breather that I had on the oil-filler tube? Well it did disappear when I reconfigured everything back to stock specs but now I've got smoke pouring out from the tailpipes every now and again. I took the...

I read that as well when I was doing research on the Tremec but there were alot of people stating that the spacer was most definitely needed for the Tremec. I guess I'll be taking it out. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the info, Rick. The reason I put the spacer in is because the ds wasn't as far in as the stock one was. Then again, I'm using a totally different set up. Different trans and ds. When I was doing research about the Tremec TKO500, it was repeatedly stated that the spacer was...

    checking timing and got shocked?!

You think that's fun? Try grabbing a live 220 wire by accident. That was life changing for me..lol. Yea, don't go grabbing a hold of all at the same time. Another possibility could be a cracked cap. The crack will be almost impossible to find, sometimes, but you'd get the same result when...

    roller rocker adjustment ?

lol..I just realized that. better make sure I have my coffee before I reply to anymore posts. however, no harm in a little additional input.

The reason for the DS spacer is because the aluminum driveshaft doesn't go in as far as it should when inserted into a Tremec TKO500. I noticed that it didn't fit all the way in, but would, when I put everything up but I didn't think it would hurt anything. Then I read that a spacer is sold...

    Blow by

It's saturated with the K&N oil but I think that there's motor oil mixing in with it since I do see some residue of motor oil under the breather and around the top of the filler tube when I remove the breather. I'm thinking I should probably just take it off and put it back to stock...

Aftermarket valve covers ( COBRA Ford Racing ) with baffle. Breather is saturated(K&N breather). I just used an open breather because I didn't want the intake getting all messed up with oil. I'm guessing that there might have been a previous problem if it was doing that? Also, I've had this...

    roller rocker adjustment ?

~Correction in text~ I stated "where each valve is resting on the cam lobe" in my response. It should've been "where each lifter( in essence, the pushrod )is resting on the cam lobe". Improper adjustment could cause you another set of a few things in your assembly.

    roller rocker adjustment ?

Not sure if you were doing this but when you're tightening down those rockers, you have to turn the crank as well for each and every rocker. First, you want to start out with #1 cylinder up. Tighten down to zero lash with just your fingers until you feel just a little resistance and then do...

I was told that the smoking issue that I have, coming from the breather on my valve cover, was a blow by. I have no idea how this could have happened since I hardly even drive this car. Anyway, is there anything I can do to stop it? I'm also getting this annoying hi-pitched chirping noise...

    Double Sump Question

Ok, say you've changed the oil in your stang and made sure you drained the oil at both the rear and the front sumps. Has anyone ever had an issue where they forgot to drain the front sump or didn't drain it all the way, thinking they did, and end up having too much oil in the crankcase...

    Breathing Smoke

Hi all. New problem and still haven't gotten rid of the other ones yet. Had my car out for a short ride tonight and when I got home I opened the hood to cool things off quicker. Well, I got to tinkering with the throttle. When I did this, smoke started coming out of the breather that I...

    Still Smokin'

Sorry for the delay dude, just caught this. I first put it up against the crank with my fingers and pressed until it stayed by itself. Then, I used the crankshaft repair kit install tool and tapped on the outskirts of that until the seal was all the way in. To be sure it was even on all...

    Still Smokin'

Is there a fix for that or would that just be a warranty issue? If it's a warranty issue, then I'm screwed because I bought this trans quite some time ago and just didn't get to use it. It just sat in my garage for an x-amount of years. I can always throw the stock trans back in but what fun...

    Still Smokin'

Yea, I made sure I sealed the flywheel bolts. I made one big mistake though when I went on my "adaptation parts" shopping spree. I didn't purchase the driveshaft spacer needed when installing a Tremec. I noticed that there's a little fluid oozing out of the tailshaft because of it. That...
