Mine does the same thing and it's the TOB. Does it sound like a little cricket? Could be a couple things, but usually the tell tale sign is that it makes the sound when idol, so yep, sounds like that's the issue. How many miles on the car/clutch?

For the people who have replaced the head unit but have not rewired the speakers (are getting poor sound quality to start), what settings did you do for the equalizer to make it sound better? I just replaced my head unit with a Pioneer one and it sounds very flat.
