Electrical 95 Digital Ignition Install - Not Firing

Fixed this. Had this all wrong. Its actually much easier than I thought. I was not supposed to touch the TFI module. Orange goes to positive coil. Black goes to negative coil. White (points) goes to the old wire that went on negative coil. Red (running +12v) goes to the old wire that went on...

What wideband O2 do you recommend?

I am using the NGK AFX and love it so far. Benefits from using the very accurate NGK sensor (which will show no reading on failure as opposed to a incorrect reading like Bosch). Has 2 decimal places on reading as well for more accuracy. Also has output for feed to logging system of choice.

Electrical 95 Digital Ignition Install - Not Firing

Installing a Summit/Mallory (same exact box) digital ignition box- very simple (so i've thought). Without any splicing yet, I've test tapped into the original ignition harness as follows but car isn't firing yet. I confirmed i am on the right wires by using my DMM to check continuity on PIP wire...

cant decide which throttlebody to go with

I run a BBK 70mm and its not bad. I'm not too keen on some of their other products (the cold air is a pos!) but the TB seems to be alright. I'd probably do an accufab if I was to do an 80mm later.

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Ok- bought a plug to cap off the vac tree fitting going to the vac reservoir. Seems to have fixed the problem! Vac pressure is still really low, like less than 10, but the car is idling and running. Not perfect, still a little surging here and there but it actually works much better than before...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

No hiss when my foot isn't on the pedal but yea, hiss is pretty loud and stays that way while its on the brakes. I think I know why- I have been doing some reading on cruise control delete. Looks like I should have eliminated the vac reservoir (the ball assembly on the fender) as well. The hose...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Yea, I deleted the cruise control entirely but I kept the vac reservoir in the fender which hooks to the tree and the brake hose. The brake hose is still present and makes a hiss when you push the pedal which I learned is normal but its a bit louder than I remember before taking the car apart...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Ok i took a look during lunch, tried a few things- First, with spout out- i ended up disconnecting the vac booster and plugging the vac tree with my finger. The surging leveled out. Although vac was low, it was now idling without stalling in under a minute. I let go, surging returned. I put...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Very interesting. I did replace the vac booster while I had the engine bay stripped down because all the seals and crap on the inside of the original one literally fell out when I pulled it. The new booster was a re-issue from pep boys and its about a year old now. I'm going out now to take a...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Thanks for the input guys. This stuff helps me think. The stock engine did not have a breather, just a small hose port off the oil fill neck that went to the intake tube. I think thats what I'm going to try next. I'm going to try some blocking. Clamping in certain spots should kill the engine...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Breather is not open, its just a port the hose connects to. I had a breather on the car before but I removed it and replaced it with this hose port instead.

How do you remove the 'open door' dinger

stuff a small rock between the switch and the door to turn it off, forget its there then slam the door. Worked for me.

    Engine starting problem

Some ideas- Clean the ISC and MAF (with maf cleaner!), reset computer adaptive learning leaving neg battery terminal off for 20-30 mins. Still doesn't work, rent/buy a vac test gauge from auto store, check your pressure maybe theres a leak or bad hose. Gauge will give hints as to what it will be...

Anything wrong with this vac setup?

Long story short- i've been battling vac issues far too long. I had the car working and driving a few months ago but I had to take it apart to fix some stuff. I've put it back together this week and it idles great with the spout out and I can lock in the timing at 10 degrees but with the spout...

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

Ok- spent about an hour today- ended up unbolting the hangers from the car, fitting all pieces together, then finding best position for the flow pipe that would let me force the hanger into place and i was then able to bolt it in. So its in, but its not fitting very gracefully. One doughnut is...

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

Didn't get any time to work on this today. I'm going to try my best to get to it tomorrow. I think what you suggested will work I already tried it and i think it fit. I'll let you know.

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

Funny, my hangers don't look like that. I took some pics. You can see in my first pic. Tried a new strategy- since the tail pipe was not positioning correctly, i worked from the back to the front to see if i could get the position right and making some marks by getting the tail pipe section to...

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

I understand- and at the same time i'm not having any success here, it doesn't seem to want to be on my car. I left everything loose, no clamps tight. When i started at the x-pipe, i would rotate the flow pipe into what looked like the correct angle, put on the muffler and its impossible to...

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

Thanks guys- yea, been rotating that flow tube quite a bit. I'm pretty sure it's spot on in the right position right now, it looks nice and even with the x-pipe and the angle going into the muffler. Muffler is hanging in a nice spot away from other objects, but then the tail pipe fitment coming...

Magnaflow Magnapack - Fitment from hell

I feel like I have been wrestling an angry bear for the last day trying to get this magnaflow magnapack cat-back to fit my 95. The Driver side went on with a lot of problems but fits correctly, the passenger side is just plain hell. I don't see how its even possible to make it fit. The angle on...
