    you replaced your spark plugs? i think i would double check you put your plug wires back on in the right firing order... if you have a couple wires crossed that will give you all the symptoms you're talking about.

    unless u see the gas in the fill neck, u really don't know if u made a complete fillup, and that can give variances in mpg readings. when i want to check for "best" mpg, i fill the tires to 36lbs, top the tank off until it is in the neck, shift at 3000rpm or below, and drive the same 70 mile...

    I'd like to see the list of things you did... there are people with all motor 2.3's who can turn 14's in the 1/4 mile. And modded turbo 2.3 motors can beat those times handily. Bolt ons can get you another 20hp or so, after that it's cams, porting, milling, eec software, and larger injectors...

    dual plug heads to a 81 turbo

    +1 the dual plug head has probably the worst port flow of any of the 2.3 heads, and with it's closed chamber it's gonna raise the compression ratio. as for the dis issue, u can use a 8 plug head on a 4 plug car with distributor without issue, other than leaving the intake plugs unused...

    1990 mustang 2.3 vacuum lines

    your car will wait forever to upshift when the vacuum line is disconnected... the lack of vacuum to the modulator on the trans will fake the trans into believing you want full throttle (4500-5000rpm) upshifts. as for where the vacuum line is, theres a vacuum distribution block on the firewall...

    Missing bolt information

    don't know the size, but typically all the accessory attachment bolts are grade 5. I use a 24mm socket on my crank bolt but i think it's actually 15/16"judging by the sloppy fit i get when i use it.

    2.5 duratec engine swap on fox body

    a 2.5L 4 cyl from a 99-01 Ranger would be an easy swap considering they are the same basic motor with a little more stroke and better manifolds, but i think a great swap to try would be the later all aluminum 2.5L from a 05-up Ford Ranger. I gotta think it would be pretty easy comparably...
