    Motor Mounts

Don't buy the prothane mounts, they sit the engine too high, get the ES mounts.

Question on removing front headlights and side markers. 93 5.0

Most aftermarket headlights fog up because the seam where the lens meets the backing isn't glued properly leaving open gaps where water and moisture get in, you have to put a bead of glue all the way around the seam to keep water and moisture out. a hot glue gun works perfect, it puts a glue...

    spark flash

Take dielectric grease and smear a thin coat inside each plug boot and see if the light show ends. Make sure the entire inside of the boot gets coated. You can do the boots at the distributor cap too. It makes removing them easier down the road.

Water pump bolts and the adventure of removing them...

What a corroded mess that is. You might need a new timing cover, that one looks pretty pitted unless you can sand it level and smooth. When you put it all back together make sure you put anti seize on the bolts that don't go into the water jackets and the bolts that do sit in water get a coating...

    Power steering whine

Take the return line off the pump reservoir, plug the pump where you removed the return line so it holds fluid, put the return line thats now coming off the rack into a container, have someone crank the engine over 3 seconds at a time and turning wheel back and forth, while you pour in fresh...

Silicone on timing cover and w/p?

Buy high tack sealant in a small metal can with built in brush, it is purple highly sticky sealant that will permanently seal your WP paper gaskets. Silicone never stays put because of its slippery nature and will end up in the water or oil eventually. If they would just make decent WP gaskets...

    How much vacuum

Check the pcv valve to see if the grommet or pcv valve is loose causing a leak. The grommets are notorious for not fitting tight in the intake. If the engine is missing it sounds spark related. Put a timing light on it and see if the timing mark is jumping around.

Need help figuring out how to install engine on engine stand

You need to bolt the chain to the right front cylinder head and left rear cylinder head so that the engine is balanced and the least amount of slack in the chain possible, then lift engine high, pick up stand and slide it on the tube and lock it, then lower.

    Rear hatch striker problem

What works better than electrical tape is rubber fuel line, just slit it, put it on and secure it tight with tiny plastic ties, one on each end, done for good. I believe its the 5/16" inside diameter rubber fuel line.

    Drain plug leaks

Make a washer out of gasket material from advance auto, its the grey gasket roll on the shelf. The plastic washers eventually leak and split. I had a milodon oil pan that i had to file the threaded bung flatter so the bolt tightened flusher against the oil pan.

    A little bummed out today

Yeah that engine block is just lying there out in the open begging for diaster and the cardboard on the bottom makes it slippery for the engine to move around and the metal straps to dig into the crankshaft bearing journals. There should be at least a 2x4 frame around the engine, then metal...

    3G wiring...

The stock alt is borderline when it comes to keeping the battery charged and when adding an electric fan a 3g is mandatory. The stock alt had problems with the wire plug heating up and melting causing the wires to short out.

    3G wiring...

The reason people don't hook up the orange and black wires is if the fuse on the 4 gauge cable blows, the orange and black wires are too small to carry the extra amperage of the 3g alt possibly causing a fire. I would like to see a test done too see if thats true.
