Have you changed the spark plugs yet? If you don't know if they've been changed by a previous owner, I would change them out with a new set of motorcraft plugs.

^ +1 good suggestion as well. Does the car hesitate when you give it gas or does it have a miss or anything? Its also possible that your car is not throwing a code. It wouldn't be the first time. Replacing the 02 sensors still might not be a bad idea since the car is over 100k.

Have you tried scanning it for codes? You can take it to autozone and they will scan it for free. Off the top of my head... I would suggest its possibly an 02 sensor if they've never been changed.

Any mods done to the car? How many miles? Any check engine lights on etc?....

I find the factory service manuals to have more in-debth information but thats just my opinion. The Haynes and Chilton also contain alot of good info.

I did mine just the other weekend on my 00 Gt with 80k and it wasn't bad at all. Just be careful and take your time. I recommend getting the motocraft plugs but thats just my opinion. Took maybe an hour at most.

My 2000 GT has a raised hood scoop.(I'm not the original owner) I suppose its possible that it was swapped out but not sure why someone would go through all that trouble on an otherwise stock car unless it was in an unreported accident. Can anyone confirm this?
