Total Control Products Is On Facebook!

Hiya Folks, We are getting close to being done with our new product catalog so I figured now is a good time to post this. In my spare time as a sales and tech guy I help run the Facebook page for TCP and Chassisworks. We've had it for a while now but I haven't had time to mention it's...

Cool project, are those wheels the 'Night Train' from Rushforth Wheels?

    Suspension!

John, if you're looking at doing a 4-link system we offer a great triangulated system that has been proven at the drag strip and on the autocross. Our g-Link system has spherical pivots and will handle power levels in excess of what you currently have. It's a straight-forward install and will...

65 restomod shock tower brace modification?

The plane of the inner fender and frame rail will do more toward resisting vertical movement than any type of brace with a bending load attached to the firewall. I like to use the example of a shoe box. Without a top it is very flexible. With a top it is very rigid. Triangulation loads the...

    Build Thread 1967 Dynacorn Fastback

Awesome! :SN: The reason we don't recommend welding all the way around is because the factory subframe rails can get overheated and become brittle. Stitch welding provides more than enough of a bond and spreads the stresses more evenly.

Doing some nice work there. I dig this shot, especially that banner in the background. :) Just a quick comment here. The above statement is incorrect. Our instruction sheets explicitly state that the brackets are to be welded with 1" long stitch welds spaced 1" apart. I'm not calling you...

    Front End And Disc Brakes

The SRP rotors are E-Coated. It's a similar process to anodizing. The coating wears off the pad sweep area the first time you apply the brakes. On the rest of the rotor is seems to last pretty well.

    Front End And Disc Brakes

Sorry, I wasn't trying to insinuate that the CSRP kits are made outside the US. I was trying to highlight that Wilwood designs and manufactures everything in house. I'm sure the CSRP kit is great and I don't want to say anything bad about them as a company either. There are a lot of brake...

    Front End And Disc Brakes

Exactly. We make a bump steer outer too. The thing to remember is a bump steer kit isn't just a bolt it on and drive part. You need to graph the suspension for it to be installed correctly otherwise the car will handle worse. Its about a five hour process.

    Front End And Disc Brakes

Wilwood pads are available from Summit, Jegs and a bunch of other large parts warehouses in various compounds. Many hot rod shops keep them on the shelf too. In my personal opinion, I wouldn't even consider an OEM based brake kit unless you are trying to keep your car factory appearing or...

    Front End And Disc Brakes

Agreed, the key words being 'most' and 'many.' - Our power and manual racks maintain the factory turning radius while also decreasing the number of turns lock to lock. - As far as we are aware, our rack clears everything except Hooker Super Comp 1-3/4" long tubes. - Our rack maintains the...

    Tcp Rack Install Question

Yes, as j69302 said, the sleeve on the inside needs to be pushed back. It should go back into the column without much effort. Jeff, is that you? I think I replied to your email yesterday but I will post my response here in case anyone else is looking. The steering shaft should be a very...

    Front End And Disc Brakes

We carry Wilwood brakes. Assuming you have a 15" or larger wheel, we can set you up with a full manual brake system that works with the stock dual-chamber master cylinder. Front rotors would be 11" and rears would be 12.19. Those are plain vented rotors, cross drilled is available too. Four...

    Info On Global West

If you are referring to length adjustment, the factory strut rods are adjustable for length too. As you mention, this is how you adjust the caster. It might help with frame deviations but that's not really the design intent. If you are referring to the adjustable bearing races in the pivot...

    Info On Global West

Sure can! Most aftermarket strut rods use a rod end mounted on a clevis. This shortens the strut rod, relocates the strut rod pivot point, and changes the axis on which the lower arm/strut rod assembly rotates. Our TrueCenter strut rod pivots at the factory pivot position, maintaining the...

    Hello From Carl At Tcp!

Hi Everyone, My name’s Carl Ogren and I am one of the sales and tech guys here at TCP / Chris Alston’s Chassisworks. I have been lurking around the forum off and on for a while. With Total Control Products having recently become a StangNet sponsor I am now allowed to post in an official...

    Info On Global West

Hey guys! I want to try and clear up a little confusion here. We offer two different coilover solutions for the early Mustangs. The 'Bolt On' coilover will work with the factory or TCP upper control arm and mounts in the factory shock location. It maintains the stock motion ratio but gives you...
