those numbers arent bad. especially if you tolerances were at the minimum. its fine, but you should have put a gasket between the oil pump and block.

    408w Windage Tray Question

The reason that it's on my mind is because I just helped a friend build his 4.6 in his 98 cobra and it came factory with a windage tray. I know they are two differentmotors but it really got me thinking on why they are used. Obviously I'm dropping a nice coin on this 408 and I don't want to...

    408w Windage Tray Question

I just recently got my 408w back from the machine shop and when I had him align the mains and I wasnt thinking of a windage tray. I gave him ARP main studs #154-5409 and obviously if i switched studs then it would need to be aligned again. My builder told me a windage tray is good but at this...

    92 Gt W/351w Advice Needed

I was saying turn it so number 1 is now where the 8 is. I have just found that this gives you the most clearance for adjusting timing when the vacuum point is straight out. I know it will work where it is, I just find it easier this way.

    92 Gt W/351w Advice Needed

I forgot to mention, don't drill any holes unless that that tank is out of the car, cleaned with soap and water inside a hundred times, and I filled the one I did to the very top with water as I drilled it!

    92 Gt W/351w Advice Needed

The rotor should point at about the 2 o'clock position. That would put the vacuum advance straight out and you could turn the cap without hitting anything. I'm not saying the way you have it won't work but if you look at any diagram, number 1 isn't at 12 oclock. As far as the fuel tank, you...

    351w F4 Block Camshaft

I just got my 408w block and rotating assembly back from machine shop. Its a 97 351w factory roller block. My builder said I should consider running linked bar lifters instead of my factory dog bone roller lifters because they will handle more punishment and the cam selection is better and i...

    92 Gt W/351w Advice Needed

I have a 351 in my fox. I went carb and love it. Starts right up even if its 10 degrees. A 750 is way to big. I use a 600 and it works perfectly. Mechanical fuel pumps work fine but I ended up switching to a holley electric pump because I was running a small shot of nitrous. A nice carter...

Block Issue Can This Be Fixed?

Thank you everyone, I feel a little better. I have been stressed out about this all week. The block believe it or not has sentimental value since it was my first build and got me in the low 11s on stock bottom end spraying 100 on cast pistons lol. Now it's time to step my game up!
