Progress Thread Darkfader's 93 Gt Progress - Back to work

I’m actually considering doing Scott Rod panels but I’d like to end up with my air filter in the fender so I’m still debating this part of the project. Honestly, that feels like so far away at this point, it’s sort of irrelevant at this stage in the game. Regardless I’m pretty sure I’ll be...

Progress Thread Darkfader's 93 Gt Progress - Back to work

Hey gents, Things began to pile up on me and I had to step away from the project for a while. I’ve got a renewed desire to get some work done on this thing so I put a wrench on a few bolts today. I was able to square away pushrod length. 7.200” leaves a tiny mark in the dry erase marker dead...

For Sale 1993 GT 5spd project for sale

Hey guys, I hate to do this but I'm moving away from this project. It's a '93 GT 5spd, I purchased and had plans to completely restore. My progress thread is located here: https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/darkfaders-93-gt-progress-heads-are-here.900655/ You can see everything I've...

Thanks Mike. I’ll give that a shot in the morning when I get back to it.

Progress Thread Darkfader's 93 Gt Progress - Back to work

I’m pretty sure I got my cam degreed today. Installed dot to dot, it appears to match the open/close, intake/exhaust on the cam card within a half degree at 0.050” lift. The card states the cam is +2* though. Shouldn’t that mean I’d be using the +2* key way in the 9 position crank gear to get...

Progress Thread 2nd Fox Body - some window trim work!

Hey man, I just caught up on the thread. You have done some great work! Regarding that broken light housing, if you don't want to mess with returning it, I might suggest Gorilla brand super glue. I managed to break a tab off of an interior piece when sound deadening my vette, and that glue made...

Finally rear axle being attended too

I’m pretty sure I have carrier and axles out of my ‘93 still in my shop. All working perfectly before being removed for upgrades. I can check Friday when I get home to be sure. I’d let it all go extremely cheap just to get it out of my garage, if you need it.

    Engine Head Gasket Choices Help

I had to mock up the bottom end in order to locate and measure for that. Through research it sounds like the clearance needs to be a minimum of 0.100”. I have the skirts marked now. Once I finish all my measurements and take it back down to a bare block, I’ll notch the skirts and smooth the...

    Engine Head Gasket Choices Help

Man, definitely. I’ll be turning my thread into more of an instructional as I start this phase. If there was a comprehensive “how to build a 331” I would certainly be consulting it. I think part of the confusion is the amount of possible combinations out there. Just no way for a...

Progress Thread Let's try this again...

Yep. I just read the entire thread and couldn’t agree more. You paid a premium price for a project car.

    corvette c4 vs fox mustang

Don’t forget a sweet pair of jorts and super clean white new balance shoes! Just for reference, my Z baselined at 448 to the wheels (advertised 505 to the crank) before I had the work done. That car is probably a monster and is a looker.

    Touch screen stereo fitment

Yea ^ that's how my Sony is. I really like this design, it allows all that space below to have your wiring harnesses tucked in all nice and tidy.

    corvette c4 vs fox mustang

Thanks, I was shopping C6’s but clean Z’s are in the 30-35k range depending on year and mileage. The base C6 I’ve seen under 20k for nice examples. My hunt for a corvette began because of an email from Hagerty with an article about badass sports cars for less than 20k. The C6 base was at the top...

    Touch screen stereo fitment

Sonicelectronix is another good place to look. They usually have everything needed to do installs too. I prefer Crutchfield though.

    corvette c4 vs fox mustang

I can't speak much about the C4, but I have C6 Z06. After heads, exhaust, intake and a tune it makes 525/486 to the wheels. Not sure what your budget is or if you're dead set on a C4, but a clean, low mile C6 base coupe can be had for less than 20K. A C6 will be much more bang for your buck...

Fox Scored a 5 speed feature car with only 67k original miles

You really got that one looking nice. Probably 25 years ago I knew a smoking hot blonde that owned one like that. Had a giant yellow 'running pony' decal in the back glass. She was the one that got away. Don't know what happened to the girl either. :nice:

    Touch screen stereo fitment

I will go ahead and throw in another +1 for crutchfield. You can even pay a nominal fee for them to connect up the harness from the head unit to the adapter so all you're connecting when you do the install is basically one plug to the car, one plug to the radio, and the antenna. They usually...

Progress Thread Darkfader's 93 Gt Progress - Back to work

I need to get a damper and flywheel real soon because the machine shop will need them for a proper balance. The stroker kit is 28oz. imbalance. How do the masses feel about these two parts: Ford Performance Parts M-6316-C351 - Ford Performance Parts Crankshaft Damper Assemblies Ford...

    Barn find score

Super cool, this would be one that I would commit to returning to original. Definitely work on securing the title.
