2002 GT - Accelerator Pedal "Thumping" Or "Rattling"

Is the throttle/accelerator cable, where it attaches to the pedal, supposed to stick out from the plastic piece that snaps or attaches to the pedal bracket, like in this picture (FYI - I'm lifting the pedal up with my hand in this picture)? I'm asking because whenever I'm cruising on the...

2001 GT, whining noise from steering and awful brakes

Check for evidence of fluid leakage under your Hydro-boost unit. That's the power brake booster unit that the master cylinder is attached to. Because (I believe) of limited underhood clearance issues, the 4.6 liter Mustangs don't use a traditional vacuum-assisted power brake booster; instead...

2002 GT - Need Help Choosing Torque Converter

My 2002 GT, which has roughly 97,000 miles on it, suffers from what I believe is torque converter "shudder", which I understand is a result of internal slippage, due to a breakdown of the friction material in the converter. It hasn't been diagnosed at a shop as suffering from this issue, but I...

    Aftermarket Stereo With Mach 460

I have a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX touchscreen stereo in my 2002 GT coupe, tied into the stock Mach 460 speakers/amps with the Metra adapter, and it actually sounds pretty good (I almost exclusively listen to music on my cell phone, connected using the USB cable - I use Android Auto a lot, and I have...

    Mach 460

You cannot use aftermarket speakers with the Mach 460 amps. The difference in impedance will try to draw too much power from the stock amps, and their protection circuits will cause them to constantly shut down. Just an FYI.

Brakes Low Brake Pedal After Service - Need Advice

Yeah, I've had the same exact thoughts that they might have damaged my master cylinder while bleeding the brakes. When I go back home again, I'll have to check for evidence of internal leakage, like you suggested. I do know it's currently got plenty of fluid in it - in fact, it's slightly...

Brakes Low Brake Pedal After Service - Need Advice

I recently took my 2002 Mustang GT (approx. 92,500 miles) to a local (sort of - it's clear across town) repair shop to have the following parts (which I purchased separately; on my own) installed and service performed: (2) new Timken front wheel bearing/hub assemblies (with, of course, new...

Some vital info about your Mach 460/1000

Something must not have been wired up correctly - I've replaced my factory Mach 460 head unit with a Pioneer aftermarket stereo in my 2002 GT, and while it's not "audiophile" quality, it sounds WAY better than the stock head unit did, while giving me the added benefit of Bluetooth and an...
