good morning, can you help with tuning a quarterhorse and tunerpro rt?

was having same issue all of a sudden (had my car at the track 2 weeks ago and the engine ran well, (yesterday car would start but was running really rough misfiring and smelled like gas, had to keep feathering the throttle just to keep it running, something was definitely wrong) one thing...

mine is doing the same, did you figure this out?

why would you not get a 6.7 pushrod?

Probably 50+ over stock, it was a good combo for street, way more power than stock. I also liked the gt40 heads, explorer intake with 1.7 roller rockers on the stock cam, almost as well.

I ran gt40 heads, explorer intake and comp xe264 no problem on speed density, passed CA smog check also

I think they will be fine, maybe give Summit or Crane or Comp Cam a call to verify

I don't think i'd bother rebuilding a stock converter, the 2500 stall will be a step up in stall speed from stock, you could run a little bigger cam with that, I liked the comp xe264 (pretty mild cam) when I had Aod and 4.10 gears, gt 40 3 bar heads (they probably flow similar to your 351w...

stock HO cam with 1,7 will do just fine then, you sticking with stock stall converter and stall spedd? you only mentioned the shift kit

I don't understand the purpose of your post if you don't tell what the missing step is? You took the time to go through all the posts and vids on the subject to then post on here that somethings missing and you'll maybe, sometime get around to letting everyone know?

Should I wire that to clutch safety switch like the diagram shows?

Is there a difference between manual and auto TFI? I sometimes see separate part listings

The diagram does show that going to starter, I won't mess with it, it doesn't look right to me at the harness anyways. Not sure why this is so difficult, ugh!

I found the 86 wiring diagram on FEP / Clutch switch located at F20 on diagram shows wire on pin 6 ( red with light blue stripe) on harness located at B21 on diagram. I will check mine to confirm, I guess I can cut it and wire over to the switch from there?

yeah I can test it just have the engine out for a new cam, new shortblock and getting my heads ported too, trans is not in the car yet, just trying to get the harness situated so it can hopefully go in and run without too much issue.

right, the the Astro perfomance T5 ID page seems to list this as a 1 year only right side switch. I'm just curious if the switch functions the same as the later years since it is a World Class? I may just have to give Astro performance a call on Monday and see what they say. Thanks Again!

Ok, hey thanks for your efforts on this, really appreciate the help. One thing I learned with this 86 transition year car is as much stuff that is interchangeable, there is equal amount of parts that are one off! Have a great weekend!
