Thanks for the reply. Sounds a bit far for shipping, so I'll keep looking.

    IMRC Trouble Codes p2004 p2005

It has been a while since I've posted here. I still have the 06 mustang and daily drive it with 173k+ miles now. This weekend, a p2004 and p2005 trouble code popped up: IMRC stuck open (one for each side). The linkage assembly seems to move freely without binding up, the wiring doesn't seem...

Sure, you could use the tires, but they will be far from the ideal application. Tread compound makes the biggest difference in traction, and the normal all season touring tires most cars run just aren't going to cut it. Watch out for age, there is an age code on every tire and old tires just...

The bridgestone RE71 seems to be the hot tire for street classes right now, where 200 or greater treadwear is required. It is incredible the amount of grip a 200 treadwear tire can generate! Also worth looking at the BFG Rival tires if the RE71 doesn't come in a size that works.

Before you do any mods, look up the rule book and choose a class. There are a lot of great suggestions here, but a lot of them will throw you into a class you could never hope to be competitive in. The way the rule book is written for a lot of the classes, unless it is expressly permitted, it...

    06 Gt Electrical Gremlin

I wanted to blast you for suggesting such a simple and ridiculous solution to such a complicated and irritating problem. But first, I had better wiggle the battery terminals and clean them up. Turns out, you may be on to something. The ground terminal was slightly loose. I pulled both...

    06 Gt Electrical Gremlin

Still haven't figured out the issue yet.... The car completely died on me on the way to work this morning. I was driving on a smooth road at steady speed and everything cut out. Engine dead, radio off, no signs of life. I pulled to the side of the road, and head a click before even getting...

    06 Gt Electrical Gremlin

Came out to the car after work yesterday, and the battery was completely dead. I didn't leave the lights on and most everything else should be automatically turned off. Got a jump and all seems back to normal today. May or may not be related. I am betting on the smart junction box corrosion...

    06 Gt Electrical Gremlin

Occasionally, after turning the car off and opening the door, the radio will loose it's memory. I loose the radio settings for base, treble, clock, the last listened station, ect. I also notice the door lock switch quits working too, and no doubt other accessories. It isn't every time, but...

I Tried Paint Thinner In My Gas. Works Great! [hand Tuned]

Thanks, Just too juicy to pass this one up. Add some boost or more compression and you'll see the times drop on toluene. Cold weather can make a big difference. The engine makes just a little more power, but single digit temps make the tires rock hard and you can spin them at will. Makes it...

I Tried Paint Thinner In My Gas. Works Great! [hand Tuned]

Yup, I have sprayed nitrous and run ethanol (E85). In fact, I have run both at once in my old 88 mustang. That old 4 cyl seemed like like 20psi of boost, but the 35 shot really brought it to life, especially out of the hole. This combination was good enough for 12.2's on an otherwise stock...

I Tried Paint Thinner In My Gas. Works Great! [hand Tuned]

Just a guess, you are using toluene as an octane booster? http://www.worldofchemicals.com/428/chemistry-articles/toluene-additive-for-racing-fuels-fuel-octane-booster.html As for power gains, it will just depend on how effectively you can make use of the extra octane. If you have a turbo or...

    Shaker 500 Stereo Upgrades

I am replacing my 240k mile 97 GT with an 06 GT currently owned by my dad. It is half as old and has half as many miles on it! I am looking for advice on upgrading the stereo in the 06. Right now, the 97 has an aftermarket stereo: 6" boston acoustics door speakers with separate tweeters and...

    Tire Wear Inside Rib

It's been a while since I have stopped by, but I still own and drive the 97 mustang GT. I've had the car more than 10 years and she has over 238k miles now. Maintenance issues are starting to accumulate, but the car still runs and drives great. All the accessories are functional, and the AC...

    97 Gt At Kansas Speedway

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but I thought i would check in. I recently got the opportunity to drive my personal car at the Kansas Speedway. Since the factory five cobra isn't done yet, I brought the 97 GT. The laps were paced at 60 to 65mph, but it was still a neat...

Need Help On Fuel Pump Set Up

Way too much missing information here. I assume the engine was tuned to account for the changes to the engine? Was this a true dyno tune or just a canned tune? I would start by datalogging what's going on. Specifically, I would want to see spark timing, air fuel ratio and fuel pressure. All...

Need To Find Which Transmission I Have!

Count the number of splines on the transmission input shaft. Stock is 10 spline, but some aftermarket transmissions have 26. Then, measure to find out if you have a 10.5" flywheel or 11". Then, call up your favorite parts supplier and ask for a clutch that will work for that setup. Maybe I...

    Uncentered Steering Wheel

Have you had the alignment checked since the issue started? Maybe the adjustment plates slipped, which can definitely affect toe. Otherwise, you'll just have to get the front up in the air and do the wiggle test.

98 Gt Fuel Pump Final Answer

The 98 fuel system is unique. It is a return style system with pulse width modulation. This is unique because the 99+ pumps have pulse width modulation without a return while the 97 and earlier pumps have a return but are constant speed. Each manufacturer will tell you what year each pump is...

Engine 4.6 Oil Pan Differences Gt, Mark Viii, Town Car

Right, it sounds like the pan won't interfere with the frame, but will it hang below the frame? If the oil pan hangs below the frame, it is likely to be torn up by road debris, rocks, ect and could lead to catastrophic engine failure if it gets torn/damaged. Just something to check and be...
