    Removing leaf springs

Basically, you have to cut the bolt off to get it out. I used a 7" cutting disc on an angle grinder to get the majority of the way through, and then finished with a carbide blade on a sawzall. Good luck. You may have to cut both sides on the bolt as close to the spring as you can.

    351W into a 68 - How easy/hard?

Great, thanks for the info everyone. My buddy dropped it off today, I got it for $500 Cdn. It has been completely rebuilt and is in a crate wrapped in plastic. The company he works for had an automotive division that went out of business so they are having a firesale on all of their stock...

    351W into a 68 - How easy/hard?

I know it has been discussed before, but what mods need to be done to make this work? I am hoping it is very straight forward as I want to put the 351W (completely rebuilt) into my 68 coupe. Thanks in advance.

    Looky Looky...

The car is beautiful, I would just leave the 200 in it. They are a fun motor and never quit. My 65 coupe has one and it has sat for 6 years. I jumped it and primed it with gas, it fired right away, no blue smoke or anything. Don't knock the 200, it is a great motor.

    Intake & Carb Options

I would have to disagree about the carb, I much prefer Holley, and if you have experience with Holley, it may be the better choice. The carb is primarily up to you and what you are comfortable with. I have had a few Holley's on my 390 and found performance very good. I also tried an Edelbrock...

what do you think of this color change

I like the change, it is a much flashier, eye catching color. Good choice.

    68 Front end swap questions

Yeah, it is a basket case and my 68 is much more important to me. The price was right for the 82 also, $800cdn for an 82 LX with a rebuilt 302, 5spd, and a T-5 in the trunk...:nice:

Just bought a donor, need help/opinions

No, not sure it is original. But if that is all I need, I think I can handle that pretty easily. Thanks for the info. I know that the syncros on it are slipping so I will have to rebuild the tranny, but that is fun stuff.

    68 Front end swap questions

My 68 was originally to be parted out, but since I sold my fastback I have decided to restore it. It needs the typical body parts such as floors, fender aprons, rear quarter patch etc. However, the front spindles and all brake components, backing plates, etc. have been removed and sold. What...

Just bought a donor, need help/opinions

I just bought a 1982 Mustang with a 302. The motor is rebuilt with 500 miles on it and it has a 5 speed (the original tranny). Can I do a direct swap into my 68, it is a c code and the original motor is seized solid. What kinds of mods need to be done so that the tranny fits properly? It...

This for all of you whining about STANGNET!!!

I agree with GP, the forum has degraded in quality greatly and it is due to the disrespect shown such as this post. As GP mentioned, the people who have been here and are mainstays deserve to police what is posted as I don't believe the moderators should have to spend every waking moment doing...

    Taking a moment to remember...

Simply put, money. I took a big pay cut to relocate back to Canada near family and it was the only way to ease up our financials. That is a car I would definitely not want Foose to steal, it was in great original condition (unless he just repainted it).

    Taking a moment to remember...

I miss it so much so in memory, here are some pics... And here is the undercarriage, all original and unrestored: But thankfully, I at least have this:

    Trouble starting, '68 302

Did it run prior to the installation of the new parts? When you say new rotor, do you mean the distributor? If so, I would check the timing and make sure you have it set up correctly. Good luck, post more information and I am sure you will get better suggestions.

67 Coupe Project update - Pics and a question

I now have 4 new fender aprons welded in, the floor pans are in, the front frame rails are repaired, the front floor supports are in, and the rear floor pans are in. I have the rear tail panel ripped out but found a lot of damage done to the rear frame rails also so I have more frame repairs to...

StangNets Classic forum, The Next Titanic

I agree with the members of stangnet policing themselves, but this must be inclusive of all rules, not just the classifieds. GP, please don't feel that I am making a point toward you even though we have had that discussion/disagreement before. I mean more so in directing talk to the talk...

    Im GONE

First of all, I like hot chicks just like the next person. However, I can see Tom B's point, this site and its content is going downhill quickly with the rules being posted but not followed. To raise the question of his sexual preferences is very childish and does not reflect what is and what...
