    351W Block question.

One more question, what transmission do you all recommend for a 351w build up?

    Removable Roll Cage?

Progress will be slow on this with the latest news about my engine. I hope to get to this after I finish the engine build up.

    Bad, Bad Day

Well me and the wife talked earlier and as long as I'm a good boy and get the basment finished before the new year I can start building my 351 stroker. So I might actually be pulling the 302 apart to sell off the parts. Since I've been planning the 351 build for sometime in the next two...

    Bad, Bad Day

Ya, I've always wanted to run some of the wiring and some of the hoses in a more hidden way. So this will give me that chance. Plus I'll learn a lot about finding problems in the engine by tearing it apart and checking every piece. Who knows maybe this will give me a better chance and...

    Bad, Bad Day

So, today sucks. For the past couple months I've had some noise in one of the lifters. I decide its no big deal and figure I'll work on it this winter. Well then the motor decides it wants to have timing problems, if you set the timing to where it will start easily, it doesn't like to ideal...

    351W Block question.

:( well I said I was picking it up the other day, and that makes me a liar. Went to get the block and to check and see if they would let me get it tested to make sure there weren't any crack in the block. They didn't care but he pointed out two things I had missed in my first look, one of...

Have you ever gotten to a point where Stangnet bores you?

Ya, I do get that way too. My mustang sat in the garage untouched for the past 6 months, I just got her back out last night, washed her and drove her for a little while, today she gets a coat of wax. I normally fix my stangnet boredom by taking breaks, I'll take a month or two off from...

    Removable Roll Cage?

At first I had intended for this to be just a discussion to see if it was possible. But your right, it does need to be moved, since I've lost my mind and am going to try and build it:nice:

    351W Block question.

sorry to dig this thread up from the grave, just thought I'd let everyone know I found my engine block, a 1969 351W. Walked in to my local mustang store to pick up my power steering pump bolts and saw it for sale for $150. I'm picking it up tommrow:nice:

    Removable Roll Cage?

I actually jumped right in and made up some plans, took measurements and started calling some shops looking for parts. I can get all the metal tube for $160 and I'm waiting on a call back on the pieces that make it removable, but i have a few places looking. It looks like I'll need to make 2...

    Removable Roll Cage?

I've been looking into a roll cage for my stang. While talking to some people who do road rallys once or twice a year and then daily drive their cars the rest of the time they mentioned the option of a removable 4 point roll cage. They sent me some links to a company who makes them for BMW's...

    351W Block question.

Thanks for the info, I'll be happy with just 500 HP at the fly wheel so a stock block should hold up fine. Now I just need to write up a list of "things to do" to get the suspension and the rearend and tranny ready for the motor. Plus meatier tires in the back. Once again thanks for the...

    351W Block question.

So basicly for what I plan on doing I can look for almost any 351W block I want. That makes it a heck of a lot easier. There is a local swap meet going on today so I might check that out to see if I can find a block. Also, if I go with a 94 or newer block doesn't that require me to run fuel...

    351W Block question.

Thanks for all the info, D.Hearne you are a wealth of knowledge man. When I talk about adding a blower to the motor thats the crazy side of my head talking that is looking 20 years down the road when I have kids that are almost old enough to drive. If I go that far as to ad a blower im...

    351W Block question.

Thats what I was afraid of hearing. I guess fast aint cheap and cheap aint fast. A regular 351w block should hold up for the stroker correct?

    351W Block question.

Just after a strong block to build a stroker with. Looking at a 408, I would like to get about 480 to 500 FWHP and about the same or a little less on the torque. Want to keep it strong enough to have the option of adding a blower to the car later on without starting all over.

Any one every tear and engine down because there pissed?

LoL I didn't take it that far, I think some good came out of my rage. Im sending all the parts and brackets I had painted red, or black, or the ones that I had just skipped painting off to get powder coated this week and while there gone I'm going to re-wire the engine compartment, install my...

    351W Block question.

Thanks for the info, I've heard it so many diffrent ways I didn't know what to believe. I've heard that I should only look for pre '74 351's and the that I should only look for 69/70 blocks and now this "austrailian" block. I was about to just say screw it im getting a 390 and praying I never...
