RUSTY Rear Axle on the New Mustang GAG!

It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the rear axle "pumpkin", but it was the WHOLE axle from one side to the other. You would not see this red rusty icon on ANY other new car, foreign or domestic. They are ALL painted/coated in black. I'm trying to help Ford out by showing a...

RUSTY Rear Axle on the New Mustang GAG!

The new GT will be $33,000+ so the dang thing needs to look better than having a solid coating of red rust on the rear axle. Just because it's iron doesn't mean it shoudn't be painted/coated. Demand better. No one wants to see THAT under their NEW car. Are you defending the right of...

    Colors in 2011?

YES! The body structure is way better as is most everything else. If they put a V8 in it there would be no contest! However, my stupid allegiance to these lazy US auto manufacturers is probably just like yours.

    Colors in 2011?

How do you know? Through emotion, maybe? Have you taken the Hyundai on a test drive?

RUSTY Rear Axle on the New Mustang GAG!

I bend down on both knees to look under the rear of a New 2010 Mustang GT and, sure enough, the straight axle is covered in RED RUST. Every inch of it. No paint whatsoever. This is a NEW car and it sure is dissapointing to see that (and this is in Cali). Good golly, you think Ford would...

    I'm throwin' 94 and it's not MPH!

My 89 GT is not running so well in the idle departiment. I checked the codes and came up with a 94-air diverter solenoid and a 44 Thermactor air system problem. I did a search but still am befuddled as to where/what these parts are and where to look for them. I'm thinking its on the passenger...

    Borla for a '89 GT?

Hey all, Does anyone have a picture of a Borla cat back exhaust on a 5.0 GT they could share with me? I need the picture from near the rear of the car. I'm concerned about the fitment as I recall a friend having this system and the Right muffler seemed to hang down and I don't think...

    t5- ?'s

If you do it this way you'll need a funnel with a tube to reach to the hole. It's a "dangerous" proposition pouring auto trans fluid into a funnel inside your car. The thought alone makes me quiver and shake. Don't do it. Best bet is one of those cheap, throw away pumps and do it...

    Front Wheel Bearing Dust Cap

ARRRRGGGHHHH! I'm having a heck of a time installing some new front wheel bearing DUST CAPS on my stock GT. My old ones were leaving several small lines of grease on the wheel. What is the trick to putting these babies on? They seem to be slightly too large but I know they are built...

    t-5 fluid

You will need one of those "cheap" hand pumps. Pump it in until it starts coming out. "Dixie cup" will NOT work. Use Mobil 1 ATF. I've changed mine every 75,000 or so miles over the years and now have 331,000 miles on the original tranny of my '89 GT. Good Luck!

    I have 325,000 miles on my front spindles. . . . . .

No it's not loaded. The suspension/wheel is just hanging there and I can move the front wheel up and down 12 and 6 o' clock slightly and get a clunk. No clunk when jiggling at the 9 and 3 o clock position. By the way it is most evident as previously mentioned when it has been driven at speed...

    I have 325,000 miles on my front spindles. . . . . .

Rack and pinion replaced with a rebuild 26,000 miles ago. New tie rods. Heck, new A-arms and bushings at the same time. It's a very subtle noise. It is a clunk and it takes little effort to make it make the noise. Just pushing and pulling at the 12 and 6 o'clock position will do it but...

    I have 325,000 miles on my front spindles. . . . . .

Yes. All new. Is is possible for a spindle to wear out or wear away? Why does it do it when it's hot and not cold? You'd think it would be just the opposite.
