If you don't want to do it yourself, your best bet is to buy your own oil at Walmart and then take it with you to the cheapest oil change place around and tell them to use the oil you provided. They may even give you a discount that will reflect what they pay for the oil they typically use...

The Mach 1 and '03-'04 Cobra share the same heads, but the Mach 1 block has much more in common with the '99/'01 Cobra. Aluminum block, forged crank, cast pistons, 10.0:1 compression compared to 9.85:1 for the 99/01 Cobra. The '03-'04 Cobras have a steel block, forged 8.0:1 pistons, forged rods...

The Mach 1 motor has 24lb injectors and the Cobra has 42lb injectors and the fuel pump/gas tank assembly are different, but other than that I'm not aware of any differences. :shrug:

Performance Improved (PI) is the designation given to 99+ 2V 4.6L motors which gained 35 HP over the 98 due to better flowing heads and intake and a more radical cam profile. PI heads flow about as well as ported non-PI heads, and they can be ported to flow even better... :nice:

I also have the Bridgestone RE-750 on Cobra R rims on my 98 GT and they are great. They even have sidewalls that are designed to protect the rims. Unfortunately, I let my wife drive it and she screwed them up in the first 5 seconds... :chair:

The crank will work as long as your flywheel bolts up to it, but if it is a crank that is shared with the GT and Mach 1, it is the cast crank that comes with the automatics. The 5-speed Mach 1 uses a forged crank that won't work with the auto. You should be able to look up the part numbers for...

:stupid: 9 psi should be fine with a conservative tune. Detonation will kill your motor fast, and the stock pistons and rods won't handle 400 RWHP for long. I've been running 11 psi on my 98 GT with about 320 RWHP for a couple of years with no problems... :nice:

The PI cams are pretty good and can be picked up new from the Ford dealer for around $200 for the pair. Aftermarket cams will run you $600 or more and you can still make a lot of power with the stock PI cams. It just depends what you want to get out of it... :nice: Installing the cams isn't...

That looks right, but if you get it pay particular attention to the port shape where the intake mates up to the heads. The PI intake has slightly different port shapes but can still be used with minor modifications. :nice:

I'm still breaking in my Mach 1 and that's about what I'm getting too. My 98 GT has more power and still gets 19-20 MPG around town where the Mach 1 is getting 16-17. I still like it though... :D
