Hey guys, Haven't been around these parts in a while. Two summers ago, the stang went down for the count (head gasket, I imagine) and I haven't had the time nor money to bring it back to life. While I still don't have the money, I may have the time, so I'm going to try to get her running...

Have you checked the timing marks to ensure they are still lined up? Aside from that, it sounds like you don't have spark

OK. That's what I wanted to hear. I did the alt on my 5.0 in about an hour and a half, but that included all new wiring and the necessary crimping.

I can't imagine it being very difficult, I just don't want to say I'll do it for the person and then let them down because there was something about the engine I didn't expect. Edit: Kevin, So there's not a bolt on the tensioner to get a socket on? hmm OK. I'll bring a bar incase.

Am I going to run into any problems? If it's close to as easy on a 5.0, I'll be fine. I read somewhere that I have to use a pry bar to get the belt back onto the alt, but that would seem to indicate that their is no tensioner on the engine... Somebody here must have experience with...

If it is the pro-kit, it will probably sit higher than you would like. If they are sportlines, I think you will be happy.

Might want to run a tank of ethanol blend through til it's almost empty. It may be that you have a lot of sediment (and possibly water) in the bottom of your tank and it may be clogging your filter near the end of the tank (decreased fuel pump pressure + added particulate matter). In the...
