Do I have to tub my 66? and if so Whats involved?

Thanks guys. Ive never seen mustang enthusiast magazine. Do they have a website? What bacspacing and rim size would be optimal to fit the biggest tire? I like the look of the tire sitting out to the fender but not outside, so a little less bacspacing it fine with me. Iskwezm - Wouldnt 5"...

Do I have to tub my 66? and if so Whats involved?

Ok, ive asked about moving in the leaf springs before and I didnt get much of a reply. I know comp engineering has sub connectors with provisions for moving the springs in 3 inches. But what about the rear leaf mounts? Where will they go? Also, Ive looked under the rear and unless I cut the...

Plans for 289; 1.7:1 rockers? Mill heads or not?

First thing you should do is get a shift kit in that tranny. Look into thumper heads. They are E-7s that he ports, polishes and i think he even does a 5 angle valve job on for around 600 bucks. The RPM is fine. Next I would get a bigger cam and a higher stalling converter, but this is...

Moving leaf springs for bigger tires.

After reading the "pics of lowered mustangs" thread I looked under the rear of my 66 to see what options I have for getting bigger meats under the car. As of now I have some old 60 serise "Drag Rite" tires that my dad had on magnum 500s for right now untill I get the car on the road. From bulge...

    66 Mustang Combo Options

First off, if your building a 400 horse car you are going to want to re-do the suspention and drive line since the last time it was replaced was 89 like you said. If the suspention isnt in top shape I would (at the least) order a suspention kit from a place like mustang depot or other mustang...

late model dizzy and MSD box on carbed moter?

Yes, It has a large connector. So, Is their any way to run this on a carbed moter without problems? Would I be better off with a stock 30 year old distributor? I heard you can get a 85 or 86 distributor and run a msd box and that works good.

Will this wheel have enough clearance?

the E cars also have fender flaires. I dont know if thats the reason for the backspacing but I figured it was worth noting.

late model dizzy and MSD box on carbed moter?

I think the only time you need to swap the gear is when you have a roller cam where a steel gear would be needed for extra strenth and wear. Any one else? Is the box the only thing I need to run an 89 dist.?

late model dizzy and MSD box on carbed moter?

I have an 89 distributor and I know I cant use it without a computer. But I heard that I could get a MSD box and plug it into the dist. and It would work well. Is this true? All I have to do Is get a MSD box to use this dist. on a carbed moter? Thanks, Britt

Opinions & thoughts on mustang trim & the shaving of it.

I agree with this compleatly. What i dont know though is if the emblems and other stock peices will go with the intended look of the car with the addition of an R model apron and glass hood. Things that i know Im getting rid of: Q pannel scoop simulator things Bumper guards Front bumper...

Opinions & thoughts on mustang trim & the shaving of it.

Thanks, What I was reffering to on the V8 thing is that when people see a classic mustang the first thing they look fore is the V emblem on the fender. As far as the gas cap goes, I think Ill just stick with stock because Im not crazy about paying 80+ for a gas cap. Where I live Ive seen...

Opinions & thoughts on mustang trim & the shaving of it.

Well Its getting close to the time to paint my 66 mustang coupe and I cant decide on what to do with tha body. Ive already decided on a R model apron and a 67 shelby fiberglass hood. Also, the fake side scoop chrome peice is gone. Ive also decided that the car does need some chrome so the rear...

Got a Question about Stock HP #'s on 5.0's

They Didnt have 302s period untill 68. The A code 289 was for the most part the same as the C code exept for the addition of a 4 barrel instead of a 2. The K code was also a 289 with a solid lifter cam, better exaust, higher compression and a 4 barrel. The C code was rated at 200, the A at...
