I need help with project direction

chepsk8 - are you saying that the date codes on the block are not that important? I think the '67 tbird on ebay is not a bad deal, it would give me a good starting point on the engine and trans, even though they are a bit "early" date code wise for a 69 car. I believe the mustangs had...

Valve stem seals part number Cleveland?

I would highly recomend putting in the new teflon white seals instead of the old black rubber umbrellas. On the clevo's I've done, the seals all came in a bag with the gasket set and were all the same. Depending on the direction of your build, now is the time to put in screw in studs for...

Woodworking question, can you put oil based polyurathane over water based?

definitely call the MFR of the coating you already have on the bench, I've had too many problems mixing types / brands of paint, it's not worth the hassle, call up the mfr, I've had to do this a few times and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the folks were.

help on pistons and piston rings for 351W?

Nope! I have a scat 3.85 crank, I went with DSS pro lite pistons and H beam rods for this combination, but, even with a stock 351w rod and stock replacement 302 piston, you don't have to worry about grinding the block.... at least I didn't.

    69 fstbck exhaust

Tenneco makes dynomax as I recall, and allot if not all of OEM mustang exhaust is from that company. I'm another one that's not a fan of flow masters or any chambered exhaust, too loud and the drone literally gives me a splitting headache after just a few minutes around 2000rpm. Another...

I need help with project direction

Well, If I do a retro / copy of a classic pro stocker..... it's not going to be street legal which makes for limited driving. Somebody shoot me! I guess for now, I'll put it on the strip as that requires the least amount of work, and then over time, I can work on making it more streetable....
