Fords Secret Factory Additive To Hide 5.0 Engine Tick?

I've been thinking about buying a newer model Mustang lately. But after reading an absolute flood of complaints involving ticking issues on the new 5.0 engines, I shall pass. I will stick to my old reliable pushrod 5.0 and my 4.6.

    Engine Dreaded Coyote Tick Fixed!!!

Are Ford Dealerships still telling owners of 5.0 Mustangs that this ticking is "normal"? I have heard this concern raised so many times now on Mustang forums. And it is clear by this thread that the OP diagnosed and solved the source of this "ticking" problem. This is the reason for which I...

2013-2014 GT - Issues To Be Aware Of During Test Drive

I also heard of the #8 cylinder issue but havent been able to determine if Ford fixed this by the 2013 model year. Some posts claim that it was fixed by 2013, while other posts claim it wasnt. It has been difficult to determine this one for sure.

2013-2014 GT - Issues To Be Aware Of During Test Drive

So my 07 Mustang GT just got hit by a driver who made an illegal turn and I am trying to prepare myself in the event that my insurance company considers my car totaled. If totaled, I am considering a 2013/2014 Mustang GT and wanted to know if anyone could please tell what things I should...

Paint Peeling Around Trunk. Is This Common?

I forgot to add to my post that I have read through many discussions of paint issues occurring on the aluminum hood of our model Mustangs, but havent read anything yet relating to paint issues on the trunk area such as what I am experiencing. So I was just wondering if the trunk area paint...

Paint Peeling Around Trunk. Is This Common?

I have been searching online forums for answers to a factory paint related question that I have, but so far I have been unsuccessful. On my 2007 vista blue GT I just noticed a vertical line several inches long where paint is flaking/peeling/bubbling on my trunk located in the area near where...

Odd Noise Coming From Front Of Car...

Thanks again guys. A little update here. The noise seems to be affected when I put pressure on my brake pedal. It really seems like its a mechanical noise somehow directly related to the brakes. I am not ruling out the wheel bearings just yet, but the noise is definitely increased in tone...

Odd Noise Coming From Front Of Car...

I finally got a chance to jack the car up and much to my surprise, there is absolutely zero play at all in the wheel. I grabbed it firmly on the top and bottom surfaces quickly jolted it in and out and nothing. Grabbed in on both sides and did the same and zero play! I was strongly assuming...

Odd Noise Coming From Front Of Car...

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I haven't gotten the chance to take the wheel off and look it over yet, but if it is a bad wheel bearing, do I need to get a new front hub assembly or just a wheel bearing? Would a bad bearing that is making quite a bit of noise very likely to have ruined my...

Odd Noise Coming From Front Of Car...

I have an odd noise that appears to be coming from the front of my car in the general area of the front right wheel area that I am hoping someone may help me pinpoint what the problem is before I replace everything up there. The sound in particular is difficult to describe so I will just say...

Anyone Here Familar With Richmond Ring & Pinion?

Umm, YES the OP even STATED quite clearly that his/her mind was ALREADY MADE UP and he/she was asking about the WHINE from folks having personal experiences with Richmond gears. I think he/she made it CLEAR that he/she was only looking for PERSONAL EXPERIENCES with RICHMOND gears. LOL, and...

Factory Set Restriction On TB Plate Under 3k RPM??!!

I have just read a post elsewhere claiming that Ford 4.6 Mustangs come set from the factory with a throttle body plate restriction based upon engine rpms. Specifically, the claim was that when the engine is operating at less than 3000 rpms, the throttle body plate is restricted from opening...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

Thanks N8Dogg98. I was only curious about the height of the aftermarket isolators just in case I got lowering springs installed and then realized that they were too low for me because of rubbing or scraping issues. In the event that the springs made it too low for my liking, then my plan...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

Nah, I plan on keeping the stock isolators in place as I am not looking to go really low anyways. I am just trying to eliminate the 4x4 monster truck gap between the fender-wells and the tires. Plus I dont want to take chances of running without the isolators and having any noises resulting...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

About how much more height do the beefier urethane isolators add over the stock ones? So far I think that I am going to go with the Eibach Pro Kit. It is very comforting to know that I can add height via beefier isolators in the event that I do experience any rubbing or scraping once the...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

Also, isnt the spring isolators a necessity to run with springs? Are isolators removed to lower a car even more, or are there other benefits to running without isolators? I happen to know nothing at all about isolators, so I was just wondering why they would be removed. Thanks!!

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

Thanks for the photos guys, beautiful cars indeed!! Neither of you have any rubbing or issues with that amount of lowering? That level of lowering looks great, but I would have assumed going that far would cause issues. Just wondering if 265/285 tires with that much lowering would cause...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

HUH?!! FRPP All OVER THE PLACE in ride height... Upon looking at customer photos on the AM website, I just cannot help but notice that the customer pics show some very significant variances in ride heights on those running the FRPP C-Springs. They look like they are ALL OVER the place in ride...

SICK Of The Monster-Truck Look... Lowering Springs For 265/285 Tires.

Thanks a lot everyone, all excellent input here!! :nice: A quick look into those H&R Super Sport springs show that they seem to lower the car a bit more than the Ford lowering springs, and that amount of lowering does make the car look pretty darn nice from viewing customer photos on the AM...
