    problems bleeding brakes

Yeah I tried the same thing again & double checked everything to make sure it was correct, but to no avail. I have never had problems like this before, so I am wondering what else could be wrong. The brakes did have a tendency to fade if I held pressure on them for a long time at a light. I will...

    problems bleeding brakes

I just changed my pads & I decided to bleed my brakes as well, as the feel and travel was pretty bad. Problem is, the feel/travel at the pedal became worse after I bleed the brakes. I started at the passenger rear wheel and then bled the driver's rear, passenger front and driver's front. I made...

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

I'm not too scared of working on a transmission, its just that I haven't wrenched on my car over the entire winter (you guys with garages are sooo lucky) and the laziness factor is really kicking in. I'll call some shops and see what they quote me, but I think I'll also order the rebuild video...

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

$1100!!?? I can get a new heavy duty T5 from summit or jegs for that much. The trans is out of the car so I figured I would be looking at a few hundred plus the cost of parts. I better call around and see what the deal is.

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

Well, I was considering getting the t-5 rebuild video and trying it myself, but Im not sure that I feel like dealing with the aggravation. I really just want to get a transmission that works 100% and not have to worry about it anymore.

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

Wow, it's been a while since I have posted here at stangnet...sometimes I forget that I still have a Mustang. Anyways, the reverse gear in my 140k mile t-5 has been destroyed since Thanksgiving and I need to get a fully functional tranny in my car relatively soon. I bought a used t-5 that was...

Shouldn't a Ford Racing clutch cable say Ford Racing?

Just a little update on my clutch cable situation: I installed the new cable, but prior to doing so I lubed the cable up with some PJ1 motorcycle chain lube. I also attached the cable to the first hook on my UPR quadrant (as opposed to having it on the second hook). The clutch action is...

Shouldn't a Ford Racing clutch cable say Ford Racing?

I realize that Ford doesnt make the majority of their parts, but I figured that they would at least print "Ford Racing" on the cable somewhere. It's not that I am dissapointed or anything, but every minute detail on this cable looks exactly the same as the UPR cable I bought 4 months ago, which...

Shouldn't a Ford Racing clutch cable say Ford Racing?

OK, my junk UPR cable just broke on me and I needed a cable fast so I went to a local speed shop here in NJ called Ben Pillas. I don't usually go there because Jeg's and Summit are cheaper, but thats a different matter. Anyways, the box has a Ford Racing sticker on it with the M-7553-C302 part...

Cold weather = Speedometer not working

The title explains it. When the temperature gets to freezing or below my speedometer stops fully working. Usually the needle will eventually move up and then get stuck and eventually work its way back down again. The odometer and trip odometer still work so I know the speedo cable is spinning...

t-5 bearing retainer help & general install help

I figured out what you just said and as far as the bearing retainer goes. The new unit is the same total length so it works out. My bearing retainer did come with a new seal so all I had to do was pop the race/shim out of the old one and stick that in the new one. Everything is together and...

t-5 bearing retainer help & general install help

Here is the story: I ordered a new throwout bearing and steel bearing retainer from D&D performance for a used t-5 that is going into my car. I checked the numbers on the transmission and according to this spreadsheet (http://www.moderndriveline.com/Technical_Bits/transmission_spec.htm) the...

    T-5 Bearing retainer

I just ordered a steel bearing retainer with new throwout bearing today from D&D performance. Do the bearing retainers come with these shims or what? The input shaft on the trans currently has a bit of play in it so will new shims and the new bearing retainer fix this? What is involved in...

Anyone with dumped mufflers w/o turndowns

I used to have a flowmaster catback with tailpipes that never quite fit so I just took them off and never put any turndowns on or anything. Aside from being loud, the mufflers covered the axle tubes/rear with alot of black carbon soot from the exhaust and it just made a mess. It won't really...

    Where do your clutches Engage/Disengage??

I use a UPR triple pickup quadrant with the UPR extreme firewall adjuster (or some crap like that). I also use a UPR adjustable cable, but I would suggest going with a ford motorsport cable instead. Otherwise, the UPR stuff works really well and is anodized a cool blue color As far as the...

What's a decent quote for a clutch job?

My Mustang is wounded with a partially broken T-5, noisy throwout bearing, and I figure while I'm at it it should get a new clutch thrown in. Now I normally do all the work myself on my cars, but the weather absolutely sucks in NJ right now and I don't think it is going to get warm or stop...
