    408 STROKER KIT!

Thank you to everyone for the support, I really do appreciate it. As for this specific kit... First, we have it in stock (Summit is 4/10 ESTIMATED.) Second, we're $1025 for the same kit vs. their $1279, $250 less on the same exact kit. If you're specific to 10:1 they also make a...

Which direction would you go if you had the money.

If you're going to post something then there's probably a reason... While everyone is entitled to their opinion its nice to have some support for it if you want someone to listen to it. We've run 11.50's with a bone stock shortblock, AFR's and a regularly driven street car, I don't get the...

    AFR please help me understand

As everyone else has eluded to ... It depends on your camshaft and application. AFR's stock springs are a basic, entry level, dual spring setup for .550 lift. Many 'old' grind cams (Alphabet, TFS Stg 1, ect.) will work fine with the basic spring. Many 'new' cams have more aggressive lobes...

    flowtech induction

205's don't necessarily make it a slug down low ... We have alot of cars running 205's on NA 347's. If it's a basic street car run 185's - they'll make more torque and mid range and be plenty of head for a mild 347. If you want top end power, growth in the future or big power then run...

    Dart blocks

Chris, Unfortunately DART produces the blocks in batches, so we'll go from good supply to supply from our inventory to times where we're waiting on the next batch. Race parts aren't mass air meters, sometimes they take a little bit of time and most sources don't have 20 of them sitting...

    good 347 stroker short block

This is the problem with forums... You make a post that's incorrect, someone makes a post to correct yours and all of a sudden it's personal. It's NOT. You're right, I don't know you from Adam. What I do know is stroker kits and this business. What I do know is that a lot of people blame...

    good 347 stroker short block

Unfortuantely things change and some people are stuck reading magazines (READ: Advetisements) and what xyz friend did. On your same logical basis are the companies *significantly* larger than CHP and DSS with significantly more R&D and engineering behind them FOS? Is there a reason that they...

    Help with choosing flywheel

There aren't a lot of choices, many of the flywheels are rebadged anyway so you're getting the same product. Spec's flywheel are made by Fidanza. FMS's are rebadged and the only other major manufacture is Mcloed and RAM (if memory serves.) They're all good units. Personally, I prefer...

    331 or 347????

I dunno WHERE this stuff comes from ... :notnice:  :bs: I have NEVER built a 347 that wouldn't make at LEAST as much power as a 331 with the correct components. It's the same reason you're building a stroker, CUBES. It's the same reason our cars are faster than 4 cylinders...

cast crank or do I need forged?

Scat; $50 more expensive, about half the headache. If you're using a stock block a cast crankshaft is fine. $.02 Brian

Dart Block or R Block Question??? How big can i bore it and other Questions!

Smock, We're obviously on a different level. If you've broken numerous 5.0's, and it's design brother (albiet a little more stout) then you'd be looking into a real race block as well. The 2 bolt main blocks simply don't handle the power. He also wants a 3.25" and a 302 so it's a different...

Dart Block or R Block Question??? How big can i bore it and other Questions!

What are you guys basing any of this on?! :notnice: Lets get the FACTS straight: First, a 4" bore DART block has the SAME cylinders as the 4.125" bore block, one has simply been bored father. Second, the DART blocks are SAFE to 4.185" bore, we've sonic'd them to 4.200 pretty...

    pioneer balancer....

Correct! Pioneer has 2 levels of balancers, a stock replacement and an SFI 'race' balancer. The above listed part numbers are correct for 50oz with 4 bolt belt setups. Brian

    Best Heads for 331 stroker

As someone stated it really depends on the application... That said, the 185's are generally a well matched head to a street/strip stroked small block. You can run bigger heads if you're looking at higher powerbands and designing a combo around it but don't get caught in the bigger is better...

What's the difference between H-beam and I-beam rods?

As a genreal street car rule of thumb the I-beams are not as strong as the H-beams. I was actually at PRI discussing the same thing with Carrillo and Oliver, each feel their design is superior but it is at a completely different level of performance and price. Brian

    Broke my Baby today

JR, We do everything for the mods, the cranks aren't cheap though. Rods and pistons are comparable to Windsors so it's not too bad there. On the flip side the blocks are bullet proof. :D Make SURE you run the billet oil pump and other bandaids for some of the stock systems. BTW: Nice...
