I just bought a TKO-500 26 spline, probably more tranny than I will ever need.

I have the JLT CAI, went from a stock piece...my 2nd favorite mod behind my 4.30 gears.

A few months back, someone wrote about cutting the passenger side LT header for tranny removal and using an exhaust clamp to prevent leaks...anyone have it or know where I can find it? [email protected]

Just did mine, they dont hang down very low on my car...I can drop my car 2 inches and not worry.

I find that people like to #1...see how fast your car is...#2 see how well their car runs compared to yours...they know they will lose, but want to see if they can keep up. I ran into the same thing when I was into sport bikes in the early 90's...didnt matter if they were driving a Yugo.

If the car looks good, I would say its worth up to 13k.

Why isnt there a spacer made for the 96-98 Cobras? I know that the 99 has a different intake manifold, but it cant be that much different.

I believe that an exhaust leak could cause the problems he is experiencing.

What did you have on the car before the JLT? Stock tube and filter?

I have a 97 Cobra, got the shakes at around 90-100 mph after the 4.30 gear install...just found out my stock driveshaft was bent...Have no idea what caused that...but it is now straightened and balanced, and tonight I plan on taking the car to the track for the first time since I bought it stock.

URDONE, if you lose the seat belt assembly, you would lose some more weight.

One thing you have to remember is that your modded GT is now just as fast as a stock Cobra...but if you compare both cars modded the same, the Cobra will be much faster. You just have so much more potential with the 4V engine.

I would guess that 90% of the Cobras, new and old are driven hard. After all, thats what these cars are made for....going fast and being driven hard. Doesnt mean that the car is near falling apart, just means someone drove it hard...which is most likely what admdavs will probably do with...

Need some 1" spacers in the back to make the back tires flush with the front ones...gives it a much more aggressive look.

The T-45 trannies are weak and needs repaired or replaced. I have a 97 Cobra and first gear is difficult and reverse pops out. I plan on replacing the ever weak T-45 with a TKO tranny or T-56 if I hit the lottery soon. I have heard of others repairing the T-45 and running into the same...

I paid $345 shipped on Ebay from Performance Curve on a Magnaflow catback for a 96-98 just 6 months ago. I just checked their prices, and now they are up to $438 shipped. :(

I have a 97 Cobra and am looking for some slicks for the track. A local guy here in town has some SVO 5 lug 16x8's wheels with Mickey Thompson 26x8's slicks with 5 passes for $120. Will these wheels clear my brakes? Is this a good deal?

There is a kit, but unless you are running a power adder, expect to lose about 60 torque off the line. Running a delete kit is fine with a power adder since you will more than make it up, but its not worth the kit without a Power adder. The problem could also be that the IRMC plates need...
