Kid Says Don't Sell The Cobra 2

Not many around... that's for sure. I see a lot more classic mustangs than I see Mustang II's. Your car is looking pretty good... not far to go. d

    Adjustable trunk bumper

I'm working on getting the rear panels to align properly on a 68 coupe. The trunk lid I have isn't flush with the quarter panels using the stock rubber bumpers. I've noticed newer cars use a rubber bumper with a corkscrew shape for infinite adjustment. Where can I purchase these? Is there an...

Help using a non MII stock 302 Oil pan

There is no 302 oil pan that will fit a stock Mustang II except the original. However if you have a mini-starter and good motor mounts then there is an aftermarket pan that will fit. You'll have to search some of the old threads for the exact manufacturer number. All of the stock oil pans hit...

    Smoothed Cowl

Replacing the cowl IS difficult. It doesn't require as much skill since the welds are flat however there is a lot of labor involved. I'm replacing my third one on a classic mustang. Floorboards, quarter panels and cowls are possibly the hardest pieces of sheetmetal to repair/replace on a...

What to look for in 66 vert project?

I've been working on a 68 convertible the past 2-3 years. The biggest problem I've found is the rain gutter rusts out and water pours off the top into the trunk and quarter panel areas. I've had to replace the floor panels, inner rockers, outer wheelwells, quarter panels and the trunk floor...

    Nice PhotoShop Restyle

But raising them four inches... even with 2-inch drop spindles, you've got another two inches to get the car back down. I think pushing the crossmember forward would be even harder to overcome because the rack is so close to the front sump. d

Besides under the rear axle housing, where to place jackstands

Look at your leaf spring eye mount (directly under the rear seat) or the rear bumper mount... those are the only two areas strong enough to hold. d

    76 cabra 2 need help

If my memory serves me well, the engine is offset slightly to the passenger's side. This is a problem most II owner's run into when they try to make a hoodscoop functional. However that said, your engine should not hit the passenger frame rail when you start it up. If it does, then check your...

1976 mustang cobra 2 heater core

Ok, you got me.. who is amanda chaingete???? The heater core is hard to replace. The easiest way is to pull the dash. I've also heard of a few people changing the heater core by only pulling the dash cover but I've never done that way. Good luck... david

    Shelby Turbo ?

That Cobra is definitely not original. I can count a million different things on the car that just don't look period correct or professional enough to be original. Let's see here... the hood scoop, the "Turbo" script on the dash, the various dissimilar gauges, the missing gauge , the...

    Driveshaft

For a T-5 swap, you have to cut 2 inches off the stock (manual) driveshaft. I don't know about the driveshaft in an automatic. The driveshaft yoke should stick out some from the transmission otherwise when the rearend articulates it will bind up. david

    Body replacement

If the hit was hard enough to mess up anything forward of the trunk (roof, floor boards, etc), it probably isn't worth repairing. If you are determined to fix it, look for a donor fastback to steal the pillars and other parts that aren't being reproduced. d

    Left Side trunk floor replacement

If you are trying to keep all of the other neighboring sheetmetal in good shape when you remove it then this is a hard panel to get out. The hardest part will be removing the metal where it is welded to the bumper support brackets. Since the taillight panel curves in it is hard to get access...
