    Mustang GT-R = Future Cobra?

Cobra has IRS. This "GT-R" doesn't.

    A better v6 eventually?

Ford should abandon OHC and OHV and use DOHC exclusively. So 3.5 is coming out in 2006. Honda already has 3.2L 270HP engine, and Fords 24V engine is currently at 200HP. So no doubt that Honda / Nissan will have even stronger engine by time Duratec 3.5 is out.

so who traded in there old mustang

I'm confused. didn't you purchase additional warranty for your '01 GT cause your factory one is expiring? What the hell can happen to car with 1K miles on it??

yeah, I drove it one winter and never again. It is driveable, but chances of accidents are higher that any other car.

so who traded in there old mustang

Every trade cost us fortune. Dealers make money out of it. I get rid of my '98 V6 and bought new '03 Sable for $14K. I wonder how would I survive this winter with 'stang as only car.

GM guy here, thinking of a '05, I don't know though, knowing of ford quality....

There is nothing as stupid as buying extended warranty before original 36/3 expires. It is free money for company.

    IRS poll

Solid axle makes rear end fly whenever you turn left or right. Come on, we all know that. The theory that weight distribution makes tail happy doesn't stand- FWD cars have even worse F/R distribution but no problems. Not every car has 50/50. It is no big deal when road is dry. But when is...

    IRS poll

Here in Iowa it is impossible to drive in winter with live axle & RWD combo. I won't buy another Mustang until they get IRS - simply I don't have enough $ for summer car only.

Notice how the new models always make the current models look outdated?

99-04 looks so cheap and plastic! even 94-98 was rounded, body shape is very nice. it is not plain flat as 99-04. headlights and hood are however nicer on 99 and that is all about it. and that grille on 99 is fugly*fugly

    The $20K V8 thread

I saw '03 Mercury Grand Marquis GS V8 4.6L on sale for $18K, brand new. So new '05 V8 'Stang could be easily at $20K price, but on the end of this year.

They better get involved with something more useful - like body fluids :)

    accident

V6 Stang has no independent rear suspension... I bet that makes things even worse, than just being RWD.

    4.0 V6 in the base 05 mustang

Duratecs are nice and expensive engines. Only top line Taurus and Escapes have them; you can' have LX Taurus with it; only with Premium SE, SES or SEL. They might be one day in Mustangs; but then all Ford engines will be DOHC 4V. One day Ford will have to switch to DOHC completelly because of...

    5spd auto

This is my stupid opinion: Automatic transmission sucks at changing gears - power loss. Isn't it better to have less gears, so it has to change gears less times?

my point is you don't need photoshop to save image, but you indeed need photoshop to make image.

More info on the 4.0 V6?

posm6s, that minivan weights over 4000lbs and that is reason for such gas mileage. Expect usual 19/28 for all Ford V6!
