I recently was in the market for a new tensioner. I went to my local Ford parts counter and they wanted $250 for the steel one. They had the al. one in stock so I got that one, for < $100.

Bob, thanks for the info. Do you know if your tuner has a website where we could purchase one of these PPs? Is that the bypass return fitting towards the top of the PP in the pic? If so, that is huge! I use the stock Bosch bypass and it uses a 5/8 heater hose, I believe.

The bearing is not serviceable in those idler pullies. Just get a new one. If you feel any play in the pulley it needs to be replaced. You may also want to check the tensioner while your at it. Mine bit the dust recently. The pulley was bad and also the tensioner had lost its ability to hold...

I don't see how JLT is responsible in any way here. The current owner cannot state whether the tube was mishandled by the prior owner or damaged in shipping. The current owner should get his money back from the previous owner but probably feels awkward doing so because so much time has passed.

Richmond gears are the ones some people tend to get whine from. Ford Motorsports gears are very good quality.
