320 miles on a full tank

Whaaa? I've never heard of such mileage out of a pushrod 5.0 before. I have to think you've got a 3.73 or 4.10 rearend throwing off the odo/speedo

Suspension Add Me To The Broken Rear Sway Bar Club...

It would be wise to replace your control arm bushings before you lose the replacement too. I've been rolling around with no rear sway bar since 2004 after breaking two of them in quick succession. Old crusty control arm bushings will cause a ton of lateral play in the rear axle which bends the...

    Joined a gym

If you are trying to lose fat, the fastest way to do it (with proper diet) is LONG slow cardio. Things like 4-6 hour hikes on the weekends and/or bike rides will do the trick. The best results for me were a 2-3 hour mountain bike ride on Saturdays and a 5 hour hike on Sundays. 1hr cardio...

    2 grand daily driver

Runs off Cheerios in the morning and sandwiches in the afternoon. On the weekends it runs on beer. It's pretty sweet and is under $2k brand new. Reliability . . . not an issue.

I think my motor is on it's way out :(

Hey. Not the car's fault there. I wouldn't bother with the 351. It's WAAAY too much work. Just get a quality rebuild on the factory block and plan something out for it. It won't cost much more if any more to do a stroker. You can put the factory heads back on until you can afford proper...

    What would you with 10k

If it comes down to strictly performance, a notchback fox is the only way to go. All mustangs built after the 60s are fugly up until 2011, so why not just get the best performing fugly one you can

    What would you with 10k

Put a down payment on a 06/07 STI. A car worth modding. Or save some more and get a 2011+ GT. If you need a real project, wait a little longer and buy a FFR Cobra kit.

    what a difference!

I was kidding about the powder coat. Although a smooth candy paint scheme would be nice. In the meantime, I'd just do Zoop seal. No reason to let the time spent on it go to waste.

Powder coat it in light grey.

    94 GT pinging, help please

Your PCV shouldn't have looked like that. How much oil are you consuming? Pull the PCV again and see if it's clean on the vacuum side. If it's dripping with oil, you will want to do a compression test and leakdown test to check for blow-by. The blow by will force way too much oil through the...

    Should I buy a tweecer?

The TwEECer only works on one car at a time. Not sure if you're thinking you can tune multiple cars with one TwEECer, but it does require that the device stays attached to your computer full time.

    94 GT pinging, help please

Have you tried rotating the MAF sensor around to different angles? Sometimes a new intake messes with the flow across the thermistor element in the MAF sensor. Just guessing here. . . I would test the EGR system yourself. I wouldn't trust the mechanic unless you know he's good. I have a...

    Should I buy a tweecer?

I'm pretty sure the strategy is different than the 5spd. You would likely need to change it over. I'm not familiar with the AODE strategy though, so I'm not sure what the differences are. It may be cheaper to buy a used computer and harness, but it would also be more work.

School me on these 5.0's Mustangs

I'm surprised it managed to go even that fast. Those mods don't do much for power and the auto is terrible.

Thinking about buying a 94-95 5.0 and need some help

If you're going to pay $1k for the car, I would anticipate spending $4k rebuilding/replacing everything. If you shop around, you could get the motor rebuilt for under $2500 and that's the biggest part money wise. Then figure in tires. After that, all the new sensors/seals/etc to get it...

    Nice Torque Wrench

I do really like the Husky tools. It's probably at least as safe a bet as the Sears one. Half the parts of our cars are foreign-made, so I wouldn't be worried about a Chinese made torque wrench. Chinese factories build to any spec provided to them. You could bet Husky has a pretty tight spec...

    Nice Torque Wrench

I have three of the Craftsman clicky ones (small/medium/large) and they've worked out well thus far. The 1/2" is the 25-250 ft-lb version. I'm not sure exactly how accurate it is, but it seems fairly consistent. As long as they are stored properly, they should work out well. I have had the...

    Strange starting issue

So I tried priming the pump a few times. The sound the pump makes when priming is . . . not good. After it primes about 4 times, it starts up perfectly. After shutting the motor off (and between priming it) I can hear gurgling sounds in the tank. All fingers seem to be pointing to the fuel...

    Strange starting issue

Yeah that's what happens. I may see what happens when I prime it a few times first. Yes I have experience with chunks of paper towels :D I looked into each line with a light just to make sure this time. I did say 8ga for my ground strap, but I think it's actually 4ga. It's just a cut up...

Ok, I've about had it with this

I didn't realize you deleted all the smog equipment. Now I do think it may be tune related. If the EEC thinks your EGR and purge solenoid are working and they're not, it will definitely cause issues and trigger CE light. It's not getting any feedback from the EGR position sensor. The smog...
